Oh dear. I'm already baffled & the bun fight hasn't even started. Must be the heat.

Can't even be bothered to get the popcorn.

Once we know what it is & whether we have to download all of it just to use a small bit of it, let me know. I'm sure it sounds great whatever it is...

I would never call you an idiot, I'll just say you were using your "jump to conclusions mat" (haven't referenced that movie in a lonnnnng time) a little but hey that happens to everybody.
How dare you not call me an idiot! I'm insulted!

So just to confirm with no room for uncertainty: we will be able to create captures with any of the TONEX packages? I can pre-order the medium-level package and won't be missing that feature?

OK, my take - hardware no required (just an option) any I/O works.

Every version other than the free version (CS) has Unlimited Tone Model creation and Unlimited User Tone Model downloads, the more you pay the more pre- recorded tone models and amp/pedals you get- that seems to be the only difference.

Only thing I am not sure on is the 'XX Amps / XX Pedals' (goes up with higher versions), are these capture models or simulations a la Amplitube built in ( as may be irrelevant if you r running it in Amplitube 'TONEX works 'inside AmpliTube 5')

May explain this ' AmpliTube 5 MAX users are eligible for an extra $/€50 discount coupon on TONEX MAX ($199.99)'

Just noticed this model list https://download.ikmultimedia.com/html/ ... Models.pdf
impressive :tu:

I have top say this looks like a very complete and well thought out and well priced product, definitely the most impressive software I have seen from IK based on the specification, it even creates IRs. I have no hesitation in pre-ordering the MAX version....is there an ETA!!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It was idiotic of me not to call you an idiot! But seriously, to confirm - you can use any but the free CS version of TONEX to capture unlimited Tone Models of your own.

You can pre-order the medium package (TONEX) and will not be missing that feature. So you can "go medium or go home" as they say.

Not to complicate things but also note as SLiC points out above that those who have AmpliTube 5 MAX (and yes, I specified even if you picked it in a group buy or similar you'd qualify) you will see a $/€50 promo code auto-applied in your cart. But - now you can also choose NOT to fully apply this coupon if, for example, you'd do better using your JamPoints. Progress there, finally.

Edit - this page has all the TONEX products on it that you can pre-order directly

Great prices. SE Version is perfect for anyone looking to profile their own amps. I can’t imagine ever needing 1000 profiles.

So a new question- when will it come out! :D

We're finishing it up as quickly as we can!

I don't think this was posted, the "ecosystem" video should explain a bunch too:

Since the free version includes the Capture application software which lets IK Multimedia crowd source free models from non paid users and helps their library grow (and profit off potential new customers), it would only make sense to employ a karma/ratio system, that if you submit a rig capture, you should be able to get 1 credit towards downloading some other user’s rig capture in the database for use in the free version if you only have the free version. This would help the database of rigs keep growing and encourage new users and potential customers to capture their rigs.

Thanks to AI Machine Modeling, amps and cabinets captured as Tone Models can also be separated so users can experiment with their own IRs or use IK's VIR™ technology to access hundreds of ultra-authentic virtual cabs and IRs to complete their tone.
IK should redo all the cab impulses with AI Machine Modeling. The mic robot could be used again to create a Tone Model of each mic position of each cab in isolation. Then the convolution in AmpliTube would be replaced with the cab Tone Models. The cab section would look and act the same in AmpliTube, but sound way more realistic.

This should be done because convolution sucks and is the reason why ampsims sound canned.

I’m impressed by the AI Machine Modeling technology, but not the implementation.

Unless I’m mistaken, what you get are essentially snapshots, with little to no adjustment possible. If you want a slightly different setting of the same amp, then you need to buy another Tone Model, if it exists.

This is how other machine learning based ampsims work already. I expected a bit more from IK, to go beyond what others have done, and create a system that uses ML as the basis of complete amp models that let you dial in any tone you want, with the entire IK amp collection remodeled using ML.

But as it stands now, AmpliTube is going to give a choice between the worst of both worlds going forward: Either accurate amps that aren’t flexible enough, or flexible amps that aren’t accurate enough.

You cannot capture with the free version (and can only download 20 user Tone Models). Please see the comparison chart for the different versions on the AmpliTube TONEX page.

I pre-ordered. Which is rare. Got the ToneX version. I've got a ton of stomps and several nice amps. Will I create captures for them? Probably not. I'm lazy. But at least I have the option!

That's the spirit! About as 2020s as you can get :hihi:

And with 1000+ Tone Models, AmpliTube is going to be an unmanageable mess. There are already too many amp models in AmpliTube, with most of them being old amps left over from v1.0 that no one uses, Amps that got do-overs, sometimes multiple times. A lot of garbage and absolutely no garbage collection or pruning.

AmpliTube is already a goddamn schizophrenic mess and TONEX is going to make it exponentially worse.
