Build up subscriber base to fatten up portfolio, sell to highest bidder. Typical investment banker stuff.

Yes unfortunately this. The more someone eventually pays for it, they more return they will expect on their investment.

Yeap. That is the other side of the equation. Initially, firms build customer base in an organic way at many cases. Some of them design a good product, or product line, take mostly good decisions with distribution, offers and also internally, so get successful, enough to become attractive to Investment funds as you point out Uncle E.

My guess is that first, most of the companies bought, hire marketing/managerial people to administer (and increase) their found success.
The 'specialist' brings in his/her knowledge, pricing schemes and other optimization methods including the shift in focus to build those coveted metrics (like customer base numbers, newsletter subscriptions, visitor clicks, monthly returns, ROI and all) which in turn constitute rising flags to Venture Capitalists. Then comes its sale to the highest bidder as we have been witnessing: NI, Pioneer to name some of the biggest.
The new owners hire the fad of the time managerial team who implant impersonal strategies. Sometimes are good at reducing prices of products making them more accessible and other times extracting the most they can from their bargaining power, be it based on real innovation, marketing flairs or whatnot. Typically user loyalty descends several steps in their priority list and the thing that actually made the company grow in first place, is lost along the way....

Alternatively, good small companies within time are bought by a conglomerate: an aggregation of small firms, in occasions bought one by one by a charismatic leader; Music Tribe and InMusic are good examples, but there are many more.
Some of these groups, follow the traits imprinted by their leader in terms of level of quality, loyalty, customer relations, innovation and development strategies, etc.. which might be very good in certain respects and not so much at others. Some small companies might see a rebirth and a reenactment of their good days with the ailment of related firms and gathered talent.
At least as customers, we may expect a somewhat steady personality in their business practices and company policies and decide on that, if we want to take part and to what extent.

I dislike 808s so much. The clap is awesome and that's it (for me). Is anyone else tired of the annual August 8th promotions? Does anyone find themselves lacking 808 sounds and needing these annual promotions to add to their arsenals? Do you imagine D16 Group or Samples From Mars make even one additional sale because of these promos? If the 808 gets its own day, Mictrotonic should get a whole month!

In fact, I challenge every software dev to stake out its own day of the year. When every piece of software or gear has its own holiday, I'll stop complaining about August 8th. See you on November 76th!
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

In Di*k's thesaurus "forever" means "a few months", just like "every plugin" really means "some plugins"... but hey, I'm sure we will soon get some uber-super-mega-monster thingamajig of some sort... for a few months (that is to say, forever).

It's never going to end. Prepare yourself for September 9. May the Fourth be with you.

He got his thesaurus from the founder of Forever 21 (age: 68).

Did the Group Buy already end? Are people able to sell their Group Buy products individually?
Hi Eric. Do you think izotope will have another everything bundle deal for $199 in the near future? I regret selling my stratus and symphony reverbs from my post production suite bundle after finding out izotope was going to be updating then to Apple Silicon. :(

Evidently they’re not updating nimbus or R4.
Hey! I'm actually selling mine in the sell and buy forum. Don't know much about the resale prices of the reverbs but you can offer your price in PM if you are interested :D Happy to sell it to someone who already owned it once!

Thanks for the offer. Greenstorm33 hooked me up all stratus and symphony/3D versions for a crazy bargain price of $50! Yay!

I’d actually never used stratus or symphony before buying them and was very surprised to see that the early reflection patterns are completely different and fewer than those of nimbus and R4. Nimbus and R4 have the early reflections of phoenixverb and R2.

Tried neoverb and didn’t like the workflow, especially hating the AI assistant. The parameters have also greatly been neutered from nimbus/R4.

Got Eventide Anthology XII upgrade (from Anthology XI) for $39.95!!!

I got an email about their "pluginpalooza" sale that only said to check my upgrade price. Glad I checked ... added 10 new plugins for $40. That's $4 each!

Deal!!!!!! :hyper:

Most of these new additions are H9 series since my Anthology XI purchase in 2017.

Does anyone have any info on what the new Nembrini Cali Reverb update is in fact updating? There is exactly zero information about this update. Or at least I can't find it anywhere in the website. Does Igor hang around these parts ever?

Is Softube Tape Echos worth it if I already have Echoboy and the EC300?

It is IMO. A tad more vibey than the options in Echoboy and faster and easier to dial on. I love it. And at 15$ it's a no-brainer
