Basically I dont want Viper to end up like this:VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Thu Aug 25, 2022 1:41 pm Few pages before i ask imho really simple question why architecture is like this, why fm use osc as source instead of loading separately so on and start ww why am i asking, what i am asking so this time will simplify my question enough not to start a fight with anybody - will there be a future upgrades, which do not simulate something from Virus, just a useful tool for designers and enthusiasts,Adam may have some in mind...or everything is based on users requests and copy virus stuff?
Personaly i thing will be interesting if Adam implement some stuff he miss as designer with Virus so on - could share some ideas too,but don't want to push it if there is no such tendency, cheers:)

When you start a project you have to clearly define what the goal is. Viper was meant to be a Virus inspired synth, and I am locked to that architecture. If you want to build a bicycle you cannot turn it into a train later on. When you make a 80s retro soundbank, you dont start adding future bass house wobble sounds in there.
That said, Viper already has some features that the Virus doesnt have, it has a shimmer reverb, it can load user waveforms/wavetables, it has more sub osc waveforms, etc... I can add requests that make sense and dont break the whole architecture, but I cannot change the entire underlying engine.
