- Different colour/shade for Instrument plugins (VSTi).
(Have I mentioned that the colour editor until T6 was dope? 😇)
- Rounded button corners look nicer to me than angled corners.
+1 for this, especially the different shade for vst's

I've wanted some kind of clip-based automation for a long time.

Another area to develop: a way to jump immediately from an aux send to the track with the aux return. Clearly this is tricky in Waveform's case as the bus+track system is unique. The traditional bus model makes it very easy for other DAWs to organise the info in linked panels, so that as you e.g. increase send amount from a track you can within the same window change the parameters on the associated send bus. In Waveform I have to find the track with the send, then scroll down and locate the track with the return, then back to the send if the level needs adjusting etc.. Since Waveform starts from a different design logic it seems like it needs a novel solution.
I guess one option would be that when you click on an aux return plugin (when did they stop being called 'filters'?) in the info panel you see a list of all linked sends with the track number and level control.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Clip-based automation would be great. I think the basic idea for automation is doing stuff like volume fades and a track-long automation curve makes sense for that. But most of what I want to use it for is repetitive actions and clips work much better.

I would also love to see MIDI CC data have the same kind of line/node/curve control that automation has. Drawing in MIDI CC data often feels like herding drunk cats.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I like the modular set of artisan plugins and the utilities... the concept of rack design..

(much to powerfull future)..
I would add to the low level tools:
mid signal Multiband splitter boxy
mid signal Multichannel mixer(Multi in one out)
Mid signal line Audio preview push button
Multi layer/input Spectral Analyzer(comparrasion data eg.. before/after overlay)
mid signal (isolate threshold gate)<-ramp/level/frequencycontent/etc.. uncles named bob, etc.. splitter

So if you wanted to try to make a quick crystal shimmer reverb..
you could split the reverb from the source, split the reverb out with a high pass filter, then add saturators, tone modifiers, distortions to it, mix it back with the dry reverb mix that back with the original reverb, mix that back with the souce and then output to the track return.. or you could first apply the distortion etc, and then reverb over that.. you know experiment until you find an awesome plugin and then desigh the faceplate etc.

I hope the MIdi utilities would end up being able to go anywhere in your rack, so you can set up your own keyswitches, etc..
if that's what it is doing.. Ummm.. I can make not heads or tails of it yet..

I guess before the suggestions need to fix a couple of big bugs. I love Waveform, but can't stop to think about buying another DAW because of the issues.
