A year ago, when I was strictly PC only, I would've been right there with you. But I've since purchased my first Macbook Pro so my opinion on supporting Apple's latest and greatest has changed.Blue Cat Audio wrote: Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:44 pmOh, I think I understood. It was definitely worth working on it (the performance on M1 laptops is impressive), but it's too bad that it took so much time!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Sep 13, 2022 2:08 pm A year ago, when I was strictly PC only, I would've been right there with you. Heads up! The PatchWork 2.6 preview has just been updated!
It includes a couple of fixes and improvements for macro parameters, an updated user manual and updated multi fx factory presets (that now use macro parameters).
Enjoy!

Nice job on this implementation. It's already really good and exceeds my expectations. Ready for the feature request?
I'd love to be able to set a "default value" for the macro knobs. Right now, if I right-click a Macro knob, it sets itself to zero. But some knobs may benefit from a default value of 50% or 100% depending on what's assigned to them. Some may even benefit from in-between values. Would be a nice to have. Note: I know we can double click and enter a value manually, just want a single click action.

Yes that would indeed be nice. It might not happen right now though

If possible, would love to be able to build macro controls for the Pre/Post Gain slots in the parallel chain. Same for the main input/output gains (I know these can be linked, but having a big knob for it would be nice).

For the next "big release", I'd really love to see some small "quality of life" type improvements like:
1. Using shared resources between plugin versions. 99.9% of users don't want separate skins/presets available between plugin versions. Nor are they going to want duplicate resources on their machines. On Windows, please just move the resources to either Documents or Program Data and get them out of plugin folders. Resource files should never go in the plugin folders. I still watch Reaper scan my D:\VST Plugins\Blue Cat\ folder on first launch each day because it's not sure what those non-plugin files are.
2. After #1 is in place, it would be relatively easy to have a unified installer on Windows like the one that exists on the Mac. The file size increase for the installer would be relatively small. Users could manually migrate over any presets and it could be a once and done type of deal.
...these small things would really improve the Windows experience IMO. Thanks for listening!

Yes this would indeed be nice, but there might however be problems when using MIDI or automation, since both the original parameters and the macro would be available from the outside of the plug-in. So right now, you can only assign parameters from plug-ins to macros.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:34 pm If possible, would love to be able to build macro controls for the Pre/Post Gain slots in the parallel chain. For your purpose, you can insert the built-in gain plug-in (or level) before and after and assign them to a single macro control.

That's indeed an idea that is in the todo list, now that people seem to have (almost) stopped moving around plug-in files. I just want to make sure that you can still install different versions of the plug-in for different plug-in formats (for compatibility reasons), so it's not as simple as it would seemFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 8:01 pm For the next "big release", I'd really love to see some small "quality of life" type improvements like:

The Parameter Map Editor will not open on Windows 10 system. Just about everything else looks great. My wish list would be 1. Ability to group the macro parameters controls and 2. Ability to use JS and Reaplugs.

That's odd: it opens fine here on all systems. Are you sure that it did not appear in another screen?Rodulf wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 10:31 pm The Parameter Map Editor will not open on Windows 10 system.
What would a parameter group actually do? You can already use the Reaper plug-ins that are available as VSTs. Other "proprietary" plug-in systems are indeed not compatible. My wish list would be 1. Ability to group the macro parameters controls and 2. Ability to use JS and Reaplugs.
