The bonus is that you get this at all as an option compared to other DAWs.
The alternative is you pay only for what is released, and this results in much slower release cycles - with no intermediate releases.
I didn't say anyone was not paying.

if the responses i've seen posted elsewhere is accurate, they basically are responing with the faq text. Yes we hear your concerns and then the same message as in the faq, that is, there will be signifcant uppgrades.. and add ons tookultschar wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:22 pmMaybe now 4.3.10 is out they have time to reply to the many disgruntled people who help pay their bills. Definitely they misjudged and communicated poorly. Hope they work out a solution.SLiC wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 11:46 amTo add insult to injury, because I have an active plan I have to pay over twice as much as someone who didn't have an active plan and buys one now. You're implying bad faith on the customer's side. All they ask is to get what they paid for. I'm assuming the best on the customers side, and that they only want to know where they stand and what they can expect for the money they've given Bitwig in good faith._leras wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:14 pmYou're implying some kind of bad faith.Held wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 11:30 amIs it that hard to keep your promises and be supportive of the people who pay for your work even in difficult times like these?_leras wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 11:21 am Is it that hard to complain about how something has been done, but also be supportive of the people creating these amazing tools?
I'm assuming the best of them, and just that they misjudged and miscommunicated.
Ive not double checked the costs but apparently its costs twice as much to buy the add on if you already have an active update plan than if you were to buy an update plan_leras wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:33 pmDefinitely they misjudged and communicated poorly. Whats this bit about having to pay over twice as much as someone who didn't have an active plan and buys one now? What did I miss. (asked as an active plan holder)

Why would I care about arbitrary release cycles? Ableton releases updates to Live in between major releases. Cuckos updates Reaper between major releases. Whether the bugs are fixed quickly or not is missing the point. The point is that they changed the arrangement/agreement (or whatever you want to call it) AFTER taking the money._leras wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:26 pm...The alternative is you pay only for what is released, and this results in much slower release cycles -
