I think it looks great. The newer tranche of fx have been very decent. i.e. Delay+ has an incredible feedback loop fx slot.pekbro wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:32 pm It's just a particularly ugly DAW with mostly crappy fx in it (imo). Pay for it, or use something else simple...
It also has the best workflow by far (for me).

One of the things I learned while getting older is to kick people or companies that lack integrity out of my life.
Yes, on the short term, that means pain and loss.
On the long term, it means happiness, freedom and gain.
Most companies, whatever cynical negative people on this forum may state, are really trying to put the best products they can on the market, to please their customers and I support those where I can.
But whatever Bitwig is going to do or say (tomorrow), I don't care anymore.
They revealed their real character, are now on my junk-list and I switched to another DAW, although my current upgrade plan is still running until the end of January.
As said, a short term pain, but on the long term, I'm a happy camper and I feel extremely good supporting companies I feel related to.
I'm pointing to you : U-He, Rob Papen, Fabfilter, Soundtoys, Image Line, ...

I wasn't so polite._leras wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:40 pm Well just above you said you were happy for them to lose money, which immediately gives less funds to add more features and improve etc. Or did you just mean that you'd like them all to be forced to take pay cuts? Pretty mean spirited.
Well... as an upgrade plan owner it would be better for this to have been included - and for them at least to have clearly communicated that going forwards they would make some separate bundles.
The difference is I'm willing to give them a chance to correct this, and also, I think they have delivered consistently and with value in their updates - so I see no reason to think that they would stop doing that.
I did email them about this - politely.
Please, do not put words in my mouth. Where did I say I was HAPPY? about any of this?
I will boycott them if their response is a middle finger. Other users are talking about not updating their plans, I think that's a bad idea, because again, the way people game the update plan is probably why they ended up charging for the Spectral suite in the first place.
I don't want them to lose money, I want them to rethink how they get us to pay them more money, and if they refuse, then I will not do business with them until they do, simple.

We will learn tomorrow if I'm right about this, but I do not think this came from a place of malice. Urs and U-He are obviously good friends with Bitwig, that says something there. IMO the Update Plan put them in a corner they tried to sneak out of, and the whole thing crashed on them badly.PatrickW wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:43 pm One of the things I learned while getting older is to kick people or companies that lack integrity out of my life.

Hey, make me a moderator. I'll deal with this bunch of whingers in short order.

You?!
You’d be an awful moderator!
I mean you’re ridiculously biased towards Bitwig and not at all impartial.
I wouldn’t trust you as far as I can throw you!

The thing is for most, why would there actually be a need to roll out anything separate? No-one sees Spectral Suite as being so different to anything else in the programme.machinesworking wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:39 pm
I'm not understanding why this is so hard for people to grasp? There was no way to roll out a separate paid embedded plug in suite for Bitwig without ticking off a lot of people when your Update Plan has ALWAYS included all plug ins and improvements previously. Had they used a traditional model, then no one would assume that new products introduced after their payment for the upgrade would be included.
If they wanted to change tack you think it through and present well in advance.
It appears that it's not just the customers they are being a-holes to. VT and Benn Jordan have both now severed links with Bitwig because they don't feel (quite rightly) that they should have been stranded to face the toxicity.

Yeah, cause it's not a shifty business practice at all to release a paid update so buggy as to be barely useable... and then to be forced to curtail development for more than a year just to make it stable.machinesworking wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:31 pmNone of that is about shifty business practices though, bugs are not fun, even Bitwig has plenty of graphical bugs here, and a lot of them are freaking annoying to try to describe or tell Bitwig about, because there's not rhyme or reason to them, so I don't know when/if they ever 100% go away. Nothing crippling just odd glitches.

That was a long time ago when they were recoding to go 64 bit….hang on, wasn’t it about the time Bitwig started!pdxindy wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 9:01 pmYeah, cause it's not a shifty business practice at all to release a paid update so buggy as to be barely useable... and then to be forced to curtail development for more than a year just to make it stable.machinesworking wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 8:31 pmNone of that is about shifty business practices though, bugs are not fun, even Bitwig has plenty of graphical bugs here, and a lot of them are freaking annoying to try to describe or tell Bitwig about, because there's not rhyme or reason to them, so I don't know when/if they ever 100% go away. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
