I think that Hink meant that the other poster had used a different swear word, but had rearranged or missed letters in it, to make the swear word inconito, so it didn't get flagged by swear filters

Some people thinks it took too long to correct the situation but if you ever own a business (not just self employed) these corrections are not easy at all.
I’m glad it was resolved and this time I’ll renew in advance as an act it good will to theirs.
Well done Bitwig.
PS
And for the peacemakers, sorry, you were not qualified…

Thanks BITWIG! The long silence was very questionable. But better late than never! Best DAW and good company, I love you!

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Ah gotcha thanks. I was indeed missing something. Glad to hear the word incognito itself is not banned hahasbmongoose wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:39 pm I think that Hink meant that the other poster had used a different swear word, but had rearranged or missed letters in it, to make the swear word inconito, so it didn't get flagged by swear filters

I never left. By that I mean, I am a musician and I see BWS as a tool in my toolbox. I had no intention of throwing out that tool.HBIII wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:05 pm Really, you all are just fine now? dunno why don't they start to use the already existing badge system, with purchasing on the partner side(u-he), clicking on banners, buying tutorials (ask.com) etc. with BWS referral, etc. (I'm not a retargeting expert) users would able to collect badges, these devices should be added as extras as rewards instead of money as was planned originally, I would support them gladly on this way too

I think it was only 4 business days... It takes some time to make decisions, update webpages, etc.Midibitch wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:44 pm Thanks BITWIG! The long silence was very questionable. But better late than never! Best DAW and good company, I love you!

100%. The dude ranting about lost trust is truly out to sea. This is wonderful news, an amazingly customer-first response, and should be everything any concerned BWS-user needed to hear & receive. Well done, bitwig!skiltrip wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:22 pm There is NO better scenario that could have unfolded than the one Bitwig announced. We got everything with really no room for continued animosity. Unless you're really into holding grudges, this should be nothing but a great day for Bitwig users.
(and for the dude saying he'll never forgive / it's too late blah blah....yikes, man. Take the good when it comes to you. Or just die mad, I guess).

They apologized, they rectified the issue (for some at least). I'm not sure there is anything else that needs to be done. Be cautious of them going forward maybe be more judicious on where we spend our money, but that's all we can do. I understand they messed up but at least give them a chance to make up for it too. I'm not saying forget, but we can at least forgive...this time.HBIII wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:05 pm Really, you all are just fine now? This is a good outcome.
A couple things:
1. Threats of boycotts, striking, using another DAW etc. work. There is 100% absolutely no denying this.
2. There will always be company shills, they say something like 30% of people are authoritarians. They will supplicate themselves to the boss, they have no ability to have a real opinion of their own, they will defend draconian or bad actions from above always choosing to side with authority over the "little people". Arguing with them or listening to them especially in a situation like this is an absolute waste of time, they will come up with any excuse as to why their daddy boss/corporation whatever is beyond reproach even if it's plainly obvious.
3. My Update Plan ran out, but I get updates up until 4.4 I believe, this is totally fine by me and I plan on updating my Plan ASAP.
4. Bitwig did this awkward move to generate cash, it's what they initially said in their first response. They do not have a large profit margin as a company, i.e. if the yearly profit numbers posted in this thread are right, they have almost no ability to hire new people or expand as a company without possibly taking a loss.
5. People who do love what they do should NOT be cautious and only update when something they like comes out. This IMO is why they have such low profit margins. You cannot prop up a company you love by punishing their existing business model. If you find value in what they do, and realize that you want them to succeed, then you buy their products.
6. All of us that got what we wanted need to show support. I do not think Bitwig tried to generate money out of greed, this move might have been tone deaf but I can't believe there isn't some element of wanting to expand, add in to the company etc. that motivated this. They are going to lose money on this, and they wanted to generate money, if you care about the brand, buy something from them.
