Why do you think this deep discounting is happening?

Given the XILS and Toontrack sales, two questions in case anyone can help:

1) How has XILS V+ held up? Anyone use it? Been taken with the VP330 ever since hearing it on Dua Lipa's Levitate.

2) Which SDX would be best for the kind of sound in something like the old hit "O-o-h Child" by Five Stairsteps? And is there an SDX that gets close to the sound of Ash Soan's In the Pocket EZX?

Couldn't agree more. The cost of Toontrack has taken a massive leap in the last few years and is possibly marginalising its customers. It's become too expensive to keep up with their new releases and any 'sales' are usually the older products. Unless something different appears this BF , I'll be giving Toontrack a miss. Again.

I thought so, I hadn't really been paying much attention for a while but when I went to their website I was sort of taken aback, I have quite a bit of their stuff but I doubt I will be paying current prices. As long as it all keeps working (I'm still on EZ Drummer 2) on Mac as updates roll along.

i for one didn't realise they'd put the price up until EZdrummer3. I know a lot of work goes into them, but doubling the price is a shit move. I won't be buying anything else from them.

My guess is their US distributor (who we buy from) suggested it. It's still a small discount compared to other companies so I don't think it means much.

I haven't heard an SDX that sounds like that but XLN Audio Vintage Dry has that sound.
