Best Way to Kill the Reverb Tail in MTurboReverb?

I like putting long reverb on my chords, but sometimes the tail of the previous chord clashes with the current one. So I'm looking for an easy way kill the reverb tail right before each chord.

The best way I've come up with is to automate the Length parameter to the smallest possible value and then bring it back up again. But that doesn't get rid of the tail completely. And that also causes audible artifacts, so I use a multi-parameter to set the Dry/Wet parameter to 0 at the same time.

Is there a better way to do this?

Maybe this functionality would be implemented with a button in MTurboReverb where you can specify a fade-out time for the old tail while the reverb processes the new input in parallel.

I'm not sure you can at the moment, I was trying to achieve something similar but for a different reason, I came to the conclusion that the panic buttin in top menu bar needs to have a MIDI mapping as this kills all signals, but cannot be. There is a panic button in the Designer section that can be assigned to MIDI, but this causes huge glitches :(

Update, OK ignore that, it seems it's only some of my patches that have huge glitching, some can be killed using the Panic button in the Desgners, the thing is you have to assign the MIDI control to all of the LR engines if they're active. Now I just have to work out why my algo's glitch, hmm, being able to attach it to the main panic would still be super useful.

The signal is still being processed, we're after a way to kill the signal, and the processing, otherwise the second you raise the levels again whatever was there comes straight back.

The way you were doing it seemed fine, but now I see the problem.
Well, maybe you could use a 2nd instance of the reverb, and automate both instances. Automate the first one the same as you were already doing. Have the 2nd instance dialed all the way down, and have it come in as needed as the 1st one is dialed down. If you have identical setting on both instances, you could just go back and forth between them, basically.
This might not be the absolute most convenient/compact way to do it, but what you're going for is pretty specific. Maybe there's a better way, but I think this would work.

I made a video of it. Hopefully it works for you. It isn't perfect, but hopefully it will do the trick. I'll put it out tomorrow. Perhaps Vojtech can add a kill switch inside MTR in the future.

I think the best way (quick and smooth) to kill a tail is with extreme dampening. Check out these settings (paste into MTR) and automate the "KILL" trigger with chord changes.

That's not a bad method, but if it's a complex algo or one that runs for a long period you're still not stopping the processing, just changing the parameters of it, and relies upon the transition time which means it's not instant. But I like the way you did it :)

That's not a bad method, but if it's a complex algo or one that runs for a long period you're still not stopping the processing, just changing the parameters of it, and relies upon the transition time which means it's not instant. But I like the way you did it :)
Hey, it will stop any algo at any length (I think), you might need to also momentarily set sparse to 1. If you have an algo where it doesn't work, please share the settings, I like a challenge 😊
