No idea where to post this so I’m doing it here, would any of you guys know how to make an arp sound like this? It’s definitely a Hive type of sound but that’s about as much as my knowledge will take me, actually making something like this is way above my head, I don’t even know what genre to call it… trance I guess? I’d appreciate any help!!

It sounds like an arp with either pitch and/or glide being modulated.

The part I’m having trouble with is the actually synthesis, like what kind of oscillator effects and filters, it’s probably not as complicated as it sounds (to me anyways) but I have no idea how to go about making a sound like that

Start with a sawtooth wave and a filter. Fast attack, low decay, medium sustain, and fast release.

I put 2 songs in my music website, though I think the song on top: "I Think I Love You" would interest you the most because it has ZebraHZ, Hive2, Repro-5, some non-u-he synths, and a bunch of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like my music, how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

Ethnic eastern, metal, surf rock, with synths and raging guitars!
Without traditional studio glue and theory, you bring varied instruments in and out
with great timing, while presenting a cohesive totality. All played with excellence. The drums sit just right in that regard, really nice crash cymbals! The background harmonies and synth lines well woven and placed.

I hope in the future you'll do some extended jam sessions with your excellent choice of synth sounds and mad skillz :hyper: I'm not an expert on compression, so I'll guess your use of Presswork helps keep the variety of sounds full in the mix. A six minute tune that flies by quickly 8)

According to my notes, the synth lead and bass in this ditty are made with Podolski. Which I'm sure is correct, because I recognize everything else.

The squirrels in our yard have been going crazy for two months, so a tune to honor their hard work. I'm expecting their efforts portend a hard winter. The last four nights have left a hard frost on the windshields, as corroborating evidence. One of the little guys descended an apple tree with a green apple in it's mouth, and placed it in the base of a large fern, where the rain would drip off, and the apple will stay fresh as the cold nights arrive. Pretty clever little beast!
Cheers

glokraw,
Thank you for listening to my song and for your kind words. I really appreciate it! I'm no pro audio engineer, though Presswerk helps a lot with making things sound "bigger" and more consistent. Squirrels can be a pest, but I think they look very cute and have amazing balance running around on telephone and electric lines. Once, I was at Laguna Beach (or near it) in California. After snorkeling or bodysurfing, at least one squirrel showed up looking for food. We fed one squirrel an ENTIRE BANANA! We had pieces of it leading into a paper bag, and the squirrel went in the bag. My friend closed the bag, briefly trapping the squirrel, but he quickly burst out of the bag and ran away. Though he didn't entirely disappear because we fed it so much, which was pretty funny. Anyway, your song sounds very pleasant and is relaxing to listen to. I can almost see the squirrels running around now in my mind. :)

That's funny about the hungry squirrel, and cool you get the ocean fun nearby. I once lured a seagull into a beach-rental, placing banana bites, and triscuit crackers on the railing and then the deck, and into the main room. When I when tossed crackers to it, they were snatched in mid-air, and gobbled down. Funny thing, I also had some raw carrot pieces from a salad, and when I tossed them, the gull batted them away with it's beak. A carbs-oil-salt diet couch-potato with wings!
Keep jamming, the alternatives are bleak

Haha, seagulls will eat almost anything.

I saw a seagull attempting to eat a tennis ball in my garden, came very close. I guess it would have been backed up for a long while if it had got that down.

I saw a guy make a nice golf shot close to the pin, and a Raven swoops down from a tree,
grabs the ball, and flies off. The guy was furious, and the guys he was playing with
were cracking up, 'you thought YOU were gonna get a birdie'...:dog:

Haha. I find crows/ravens can have interesting behavior. They are pretty smart too!

A musical background music rendition of two people discussing which shade of blue paint to use on the bathroom walls. My choice lost out :( The two musical parts are Hive, no argument about that... ya win some, ya lose some. :hihi:
