That’s interesting, I’ve never even opened Zebra2 as I bought ZebraHZ at the same time and just figured I might as well use the more feature packed versionUrs wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 2:11 pm I think that Zebra2 is closer to my vision of a great synth than ZebraHZ. I think ZebraHZ requires extra effort & skills - it is purposed for very demanding tasks beyond Zebra's original scope. Whenever Zebra2 gets the job done, I'd choose Zebra2 over ZebraHZ.

Yeah honestly, news about it was around for a long time. One should always research their purchases if the amount of money being thrown down is not insignificant.
The cut-off date and options were arranged specifically to entice users to purchase Zebra 2 at a regular price to get a discount on Z3 in the future - essentially, an option to 'kickstart' it, hedging their bets that U-he would deliver a product worth the money at a future date. Simultaneously, there was an option to simply get the discounted Zebra bundle without the extra buy in for Z3.
I am not sure how this could have been made simpler - the cut-off date for essentially preordering Z3 has expired. ZL is still an amazing deal.
By the way, I am creating some brass arrangements and would love some advice on whether Zebra would be able to produce something close to a live trumpet solo. We're talking something compareable to say, the opening to Cowboy Bebop - some real character. I am presently using a sound library with prerecorded brass, and it's admireable when layered up... but for a solo instrument specifically, the shortcomings become quickly apparent. It's a bit of a tall ask given how dynamic any real instrument sounds played live, but thought it worth a query.

Well see, "Okapi" would've also created even more intrigue and maybe even dominated the search results! Lol! But it was only a joke, just to highlight the fact that it's a separate product. I feel like maybe some people are looking at it as if they bought something soon to be replaced, obsolete and discontinued.vurt wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 6:12 pmfollowed by a lot of "wtf is an okapi?"
not everyone seems to watch wildlife documentaries.

apologies, it's just urs has mentioned a product called okapi as an option a while back, and there were many questionsjoeyluck wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 6:26 pmWell see, "Okapi" would've also created even more intrigue and maybe even dominated the search results! Unbelievable how little time it took before people start whining about the upgrade, Legacy etc. even though things were made crystal clear months ago. U-he has been completely transparent the whole time. People seem to make decisions too hastily and can't seem to understand what they read, based on comments and unnecessary questions in this thread

it's still the same z2 build as the most recent. nothing has changed there. so will contain the factory bank on install or if you already have it installed, just add the new banks to you.

Big thanks to U-he for this gift. Incredible how good Zebra2 sounds considering how old it is and it's low CPU usage. Can't wait for Zebra3.

Great!tasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 5:19 amYess, exactly this, XY assignments, tagging, volume balancing, preset sorting, creation of NKS versions and NKS previews, ....e-musician wrote: Tue Nov 15, 2022 8:53 pm Is there any point in installing the soundsets again if I already own them? Have there been any changes to the soundsets just for the Zebra Legacy release, for example, new XY assignments, tagging, or something like that?
The whole process of polishing the presets is still ongoing, as this is an enormous task. So not all presets already underwent the polishing process. We'll publish an update in a few months once that's done for all the presets.
The soundsets are installed into a Legacy folder, so installing them won't overwrite your existing versions.
Thank you (both for your answer and for your work)!

I think, emphasis on think what morelia means is that there was a Z2 factory bank BEFORE Howard did over a new factory bank.
And yes I believe that old one is part of Legacy now. (I had never heard it before, only heard of it)
