The Dark Zebra Zebra Legacy (Zebra2)

Post

If anything, the bundled soundsets (not to mention thousands of free community presets)
demonstrate that Zebra2 and it's capabilities have never been exhausted. And U-he keep Zebra2
up to date with cross-platform operating system updates...batmanic fits of coding and design... that will extend into the new CLAP plugin format, which was birthed to extend the capabilities of such plugins across the wider market.

I dare say that U-he plugins are as future-proof as commercial plugins can be. You can even root around and find a versatile randomizer, that can zero in on a % of a sound, or coax havoc :scared: or glee :hyper: from the :wheee: full control set :wheee:

There are absolutely no restrictions in the purchase conditions. Everything you get is laid out perfectly well on the website.

Look, you seem to stir up a lot of weird energy for someone who apparently isn't even a customer of ours. You literally contradict yourself because, obviously, you have know about "the catch" before you have bought anything. As such, I perceive your insistence as some kind of "try to muscle things your way by causing public havoc". The next level of escalation typically includes "or else", so let me stop your right here.

Please refrain from insinuating any wrong doing or bad business practice from our side. I'm not interested in your business advice, nor do I think your accusations have any merits. Nor will we change our mind on our long term plans because you say so.

Just wanted to let Urs and the U-he gang know that I am - as a long-time user of Zebra, Zebra HZ, and several other U-he plugins - grateful for the way you made your business and the Zebra Legacy decision. I know that the negativity is louder than our appreciation - so I just wanted to make it a little bit louder on this side of this (sorry, but very stupid) argument. Keep up the great work, and I'm waiting for Z3 :D.

Well said urs .

The information has not been made clear.
Referencing newsletters and threads is not an argument to defend against this, as most of the people that buy at this price, will do it because they hear of this offer, not because they heard of a change in terms of conditions.

It seems that the attitude here from Urs and others, is that people knew, and held off buying Zebra 2, waiting for the legacy offer, and then were hoping to get the upgrade price anyhow.
That idea, is completely divorced from reality.
Most potential buyers at this time will be people that have not read up on the newsletter or threads. It will be people seeing this offer pop up in different places.
Some will have known about Zebra 2 for years, and may think this is a really great offer, especially since it bundles a lot extra and is at a lower price.
Others will not really know about Zebra 2, find out now, and see demos, and think it seems like a good synth, despite the age, but with such a large bundle, may still feel comfortable buying.

So any comments about newsletters and threads is irrelevant.
People will not have gotten the information from those.
They will hear about this offer now that it is released.
I agree with you.

haven't tried it myself yet, but i'd be surprised if they didn't give you a refund when asked nicely if you're feeling that duped by "u-he's sneaky marketing practices"(tm)

win-win for everyone

I'm tired to follow that angry part of the thread. Could we agree not to add "interesting stuff" to it, but create a new one, and let complaints die out on their own ?

So for people that haven't read up on it, followed threads or read deeply in to the details, it would be expected that when Zebra 3 comes along, they will enjoy some discount for the upgrade.
Read what you wrote here. It is rediculous. First, it is the responsibility of ANY buyer of ANY product to either research what they are buying, or be prepared to live with what they bought. Second, the "they will enjoy some discount for the upgrade" is something you made up in your own head. Not everyone does this, nor are they expected to.

Then lets dig a little deeper. If you bought ZL, you got it for $100 cheaper than people who bought it a month or two before you, and around $400 cheaper than people who bought everything in that package prior to the last few months. If you are insisting you are entitled to an upgrade path, guess what? You got one! You have $100-400 more in your wallet than everyone else so put that towards Z3 when it comes out and stop with this nonsense. I feel bad that Urs has to read and feel obligated to respond to such drivel.

I just re-checked my emails from U-he. No where does it say that Zebra2 owners should re-use their old serial number for Zebra Legacy. I'd assumed ZebraHZ has it's own license to stop Zebra 2 owners from pirating it for free.

It is now free for Zebra2 owners.

It was not free in the past.
