Yes. I don't recall any bug fixes for earlier versions once a new version is released.anli wrote: Wed Jan 04, 2023 8:00 am As for stability... Will v.13 release stop v.12 fixing process?
When is the New Version of Waveform coming out?

Yeah kinda Yearly upgrades to a somewhat unstable/unfinished product seems a bit suspect. Especially if bug fixes stop for last years version. How about we make version 12 as rock solid as we can before adding new half baked whaterever. I am very inspired by WF 12. But it has to be stable.nowgad wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 3:41 pmDo you think that all WF users are donkeys with a carrot hanging in front of their noses, which cannot be reached?
I will cry long and hard, and go on a binge if it turns out to be true![]()

Actually I agree. The new business(?) model of Tracktion, in the form of buying the necessary add-ons, as well as the introduction of a new engine, seems to correct this misunderstanding. But this model is also an experiment, if it turns out to be less successful, we will return to the carrot

If memory serves, the new update model is a .5 update the following year and a new version number every other. Welcome to groundhog season!Watchful wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 12:42 pm I really don't think we got our money's worth with v12. I am not confident I would consider upgrading to v13.

Well, that was true for 11.5, but for specific reasons: Dave over at Tracktion hit upon a way to clean up the audio engine, and Roland there used the downtime during the pandemic to revamp the MIDI editing and the interface. The result was a massive sea change in the application (for the better) that warranted a jump in numbers.cjayconrod wrote: Fri Jan 13, 2023 10:09 pm If memory serves, the new update model is a .5 update the following year and a new version number every other. For example, there wasn't a 10.5, a 9.5 or an 8.5. In other words, I don't think there's enough evidence to conclude this is Tracktion's update plan for v12, or any following release. The good news, though, is we merely have to wait and see! You may prove completely correct.

Thus, I said the NEW update model. It was discussed in YouTube livestream last year. The thought was changes moving forward wouldn't be great enough from year-to-year to warrant completely different version numbers.Watchful wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 12:24 amWell, that was true for 11.5, but for specific reasons: Dave over at Tracktion hit upon a way to clean up the audio engine, and Roland there used the downtime during the pandemic to revamp the MIDI editing and the interface. I just checked the NAMM website. Their 2023 show isn't happening until April 13! Hopefully, Tracktion isn't locking the release announcement to that event date. I'd like good news sooner.

The devs never seem to visit here any longer . Tracktion/Waveform, I guess has had it's bumps in the road since they got it back from Mackie . I think the strong points have been there 3rd party synths , add on packs and stuff . They seem to do good with a Waveform free ... Seems the best free DAW out there IMHO . I hope the company sticks around and is profitable .
