I tried and as you suggested it works, but unfortunatly the workflow for that purpose it's not there.

On Slicex you import the audio, than with a click only he autoslice the audio accordingly with transients i think and everything it's already set to each note.
Since it's a production/sound design need, being fast it's a key feature.

Probably something "easier" and more focused into that job will fit the needs

Yeah, a specialised tool usually has a quicker workflow. I think Image-Line is updating and re-releasing their plugins soon. However, they've moved to a C/R copy protection system.

How about Sitala, very refined workflow for what it does:
https://decomposer.de/sitala/
Also, it's free.

Thanks for the suggestion, i gave it a spin, but if the file is decently long it doesn't split it, and as far as i tried i didn't found any way to manually add a region, although the automatic slicing it's something i'm searching for.

I never thought to be so hard to found something like that

I think the daddy of this stuff is Serato:

50% off at the moment.

I mean, there are some pretty cool options available like Initial Slice and most DAWs can do this as well.

If you want to avoid any type of online activation, it's going to be rough, though. I think ShortCircuit XT is expected to be released some time this summer which might give you what you want.

Personally, I'd suggest to work with audio directly. It gives you much more control.

I already saw Serato and Initial Slice (that looks very interesting), but the activation method..

I'll see what to do when i need to chop vocals.

Thanks everyone for the help, i really appreciate it

Renoise Redux is good for this

Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm trying it, but i don't understand if i import a voice, how can i decide which part to autoslice.
Cause no matter my zoom or selection, it always start to autoslice from beginning, and that's very annoying

Post

Simple thing to do is select the part of the sample you want to use, and trim it. Then auto slice.

I will try it, thank you very much!!

You can use the Vice 2 demo before MRecorder.

As a demo limitation, Vice mangles the samples exported with drag / drop, but if you click on the slice you can record it with MRecorder.

It's a different approach but

Daw track or sample player > MRythmizer and use midi notes to trigger loop variations (patterns)

Thank you for the suggestion. But i'd prefer to find something that just works ootb like Slicex does.

It's a cool idea, but still a workflow breaker for my kind of usage, i still need a better control over the slices and how they get handled

Melda talk with IL if you need so, and bring us something like Slicex, that plugin is just perfect, unfortunatly not supported anymore as vst :(
