Great update! The browser now works as it should and the right panel is no longer annoying. The improvements to the high-gain algorithms will only apply to new captures, right?

Peter, when will we see the StealthPedal control app updated for Apple Silicon?
Version 1.1.1 of the app has a release date of 2020-03-10, so the StealthPedal is still being supported, fairly recently.

But under Apple Silicon/Ventura, the GUI is blank, and MIDI messages aren't being sent out.

Maybe a firmware update so it works as a standard MIDI controller without the need of an intermediary app? Is that possible?

Did the update. I really love this program. Going onto Tone.net is like going to an all-you-can-scoff buffet. Lots of really great tonez.

Interesting: I had set up a template in Logic with the prior version using a few instances of Tonex within Amplitube. Post update, these rigs sound thin with low volume. I have to re-do the rigs.

LGK_Dude wrote: Wed Feb 15, 2023 11:57 pm Anyone know if its possible to transfer presets / tonex captures from your desktop system to your iphone or ipad? This is not possible with Amplitube but wondering if Tonex is different.
Any of the models from the Mac/PC version you have registered will work with the iOS version, as well as any you can get from ToneNET.
Do I have to manually re-download them on both devices separately? Or can I file transfer between the devices offline? If this can only be done online, do I have to browse the full tonet or is there some sort of "user" area where I can choose which profiles I've already downloaded on my computer to also download on my iPhone?

What about saved presets? e.g. on my laptop I make my own tone by combining a different amp and cab profiles, dial in my settings with Gain, EQ, Compression, Reverb, etc and save it as a preset on my desktop. Can I share this to my phone?

Basically I can see myself writing music in the studio and downloading MANY tonex profiles, which is fine on my desktop when writing. I could then see me making my own presets that I use for specific songs and saving them as presets. Is it now possible to transfer only these profiles/presets that I used in songs to my iphone for playing out?

Thank you very much for answering my question Peter! Really appreciate it as I'm having a difficult time figuring this all out (sorry!)
No problem. You would need to download the Tone Models you want to use on your iOS device from ToneNET, each device will have the Tone Models you've downloaded on that specific device saved to your Library.db on said device.

I haven't run into anything like that here with my track templates saved in prior versions. They recall and sound identical. I'd contact support.

I just re-did them. Don't know what caused it.

Re the pedal:
I was interested, but two things made me decide otherwise.
I have a BOSS GT-1. I'm not particularly fond of it, but it runs on batteries, which means I can go play out in my garden with it if I feel like it. Batteries.
And FX. It doesn't look like there's anything other than compression, noise gate, amp/cab/overdrive pedal combinations.
Is the idea to use the IK FX pedals if we want delays, choruses, etc?

I think the expected use case is something like this (replace the UAFX Dream/Ruby pedals with TONEX)...

...imagine taking that to a gig, then plugging direct into the front of house system. No big amp on stage. Maybe you're running in ear monitors. But that small pedalboard could be your entire rig. You've got some dirt pedals in front for flavor, you've got some other FX pedals covering delay/reverb/modulation (pre or post), but you've got an entire rig on a small pedalboard with the TONEX pedal taking the place of an amp in the signal chain.

Heck, you could get away with just the TONEX and a multi-FX and do it all with just 2 pedals.

What is the max number of epochs used in Tonex's high quality training setting? Will IK let users increase this in the future for higher quality captures albeit longer training/processing time? Some people have did some log file reading/poking around and are determining that it probably is 228 epochs max, which compared to what NAM can process, which is any amount of epochs you set, IK's epoch count is relatively low by comparison to the average NAM capture.

And then replace all the others with X-GEAR pedals. I think that's IK's "expected use case."

Perhaps IK found diminishing returns past the High Quality setting. There appears to be a logarithmic curve to accuracy over time.

However, what I find more impressive about NAM is that it can model the complete amp including parametric modeling of the knobs, and not just a simple snapshot. And yet IK's own in-house TONEX models can't do that.

Why is IK's expensive commercial product lagging so far behind an open source freeware?
Peter?

A new TONEX update is available, including a firmware update for TONEX Pedal:

TONEX 1.1.2

Changes from version 1.1.1:

TONEX PLAYER

Fixed an issue with the CAB Lock that wasn't locking the CAB when changing from TONE MODEL CAB to VIR.
Fixed an issue that could cause TONEX GUI to go grey when closing and reopening the plug-in.
Added 13 new PRESETs taken from our demo video. Type "Demo Video" in the search bar to find them.

TONEX MODELER

Fixed an issue that could give inaccurate results when modeling High Gain Amplifiers or Stomps.

TONEX PEDAL (Firmware 1.0.4)

Fixed an issue that was locking the pedal at start-up when a MIDI CLOCK was sent to the MIDI IN.
Fixed a rare issue that could corrupt the last selected preset before powering off the pedal.

General reliability improvements.

FWIW, been doing a lot of guitar work in the past two weeks, swapping between Guitar Rig 6, Amplitube 5 Max and Tonex. Here's my findings.

1. The generalisation that Tonex sounds better than anything else is wildly overstated. However, CPU is nice and low, and it's great to switch between presets so quickly.

2. CPU of Amplitube is through the roof compared to the other two. But there are occasional great sounds.

3. GR6 is by far the best for effects.
