yes I wish I could save my filters in the search engine, and the vst3 on my mac doesn't resize to the smallest size for everytime I try to use it etc.. but they are improving the usability.

I joined KVR to roast IK over the 64 bit Sampletank 2 issue. I've been vehemently anti-IK, but that started to change around the time they released Sunset Studio Reverb. I tried the demo, and was impressed. Then there was their anniversary sale where I grabbed almost everything there was to grab. And everything is Apple Silicon compatible.
If they go sub on us, I'll be forced to revisit my more benign view of them.
Tonex is a fantastic product. It is my go-to, now.
Yeah, my money for the best IK products are:

1. TONEX
2. MODO Bass
3. Fame Studios
4. Sunset Sound Studios
5. Tape Machine Collection

...the Leslie is pretty good, same for their Hammond, but I have other options I prefer. There are some other good T-Racks plugins, but nothing I use regularly.

Tonex is so cool :) I just wish on tone.net there would be a way to exclude the "fake" of "fake" models. Like when an IR is a part of the sound, or when people are just using another modeler and make a tonex patch out of those.

Waiting on a Tonex pedal to arrive.

Can't wait.

Have fun. It would be nice to be able to upload complete Amplitube/Tonex rigs into it. Then it would have few competitors.

It's been pretty clear the TONEX Pedal, at least this iteration of it, was directly competing with the "amp in a pedal" products like the Strymon Iridium and UAFX Amp Sim pedals, just with profiling tech at the core versus modeling. This wasn't meant to be a complete signal chain solution like a Helix, Quad Cortex, or Kemper. That's why the pricing is in line with those other amp sim pedals, and not as expensive as the Helix/QC/Kemper, which all cost significantly more.

I wouldn't be surprised if IK eventually releases an all-in-one "TONEX Pro" or something that includes additional stomp slots, modulation effects, reverbs, etc. with a larger encloser, LED screen, and more I/O options. I'm not saying it will definitely happen, I have no idea, but I think this initial incarnation of TONEX and TONEX Pedal have been huge hits so I could see them wanting to expand in a few years. Would certainly make sense, and I could see room for that in the market where people would just take the TONEX Pro to a gig and be ready to go. If anything, the challenge may be balancing that with the TONEX software, Amplitube ecosystem, and original TONEX pedal to maintain compatibility.

That would defeat its original ability to undercut the others. I tried the Plethora, didn't like it in front of anything. So, I bought Valhalla ÜberMod and Delay, which serve me much better than the plethora, or, for that matter, the time-based fx in Amplitube.
I expect if more people clamor for a ITB solution, IK will likely do as you suggest. I'm happy enough with the software.

I also expect they want us to buy the other 'X' pedals to complete the hardware Tonex rig.

If you want them, sure, but TONEX Pedal was made to fit on guitarists' pedalboard among the pedals they already use and/or prefer. The TONEX Tone Models really take pedals well, and we know that guitarists have varied and very specific tastes when it comes to effects pedals. A quality overdrive in front of TONEX Pedal is really great, for example, and we used a combination of 3rd party pedals and some of our own on the TONEX Pedal stations at NAMM to help demonstrate the flexibility and capability of a varied setup like you'd more likely see in real use.

OK. I just don't get along with pedals. Tonex is great, but for me, it stays in Logic. Pedalboards, anathema.

I'm on the opposite side :)

I hate mousing around on the screen before finding the suitable amp. Give me a pedal so I can get the "real thing" in my daw, not just a DIed signal.

It's all the same at the end, basically. Just different workflow.

I set up patches in Logic. I have 2 Fenders, 2 VOXes, 2 Plexis, with my fx ready to go at the click of a couple of buttons. I'll likely add an Orange or 2. But these amps and fx chains are right there at my fingertips.
I have a great VOX AC-15C with a 2 x 12 cab. I'm usually just plug and play. I didn't even try any fx beside a fuzz/wah I got when I was around 15 or so until I was around 30. Tried a few multi fx pedals, have a BOSS GT-1, but I just play through the amp.

But will we see TONEX pedals abandoned by IK in the future while there are still thousands of working units still owned by users?

Any hardware from IK that needs firmware/drivers is a concern, given IK’s track record.

I’m still trying to figure out how to get my StealthPedal MIDI control to work on MacOS Ventura (Apple Silicon.) The audio is working, but it will not function as a USB MIDI device for some reason. I think it’s got to do with this stupid dependency on the StealthPedal MIDI Control app, which shows up as a blank page when it’s opened.

Peter, is there any way to get StealthPedal to work as a generic MIDI controller? Or can we at least get an update to the control app for MIDI to work on Mac again? It’s just too rugged and nice of a MIDI controller to just toss in the garbage, and it’s the only controller that feels like a legit wah pedal.

There must be a way to free it from the control app and just have it work like any other plug-and-play MIDI USB device. Anyone?

The support IK gives to older hardware products like StealthPedal right now tells you a lot about the kind of support the TONEX pedal will receive in the future, if you buy one.

I guess the pedal will keep on working even if IK abandons it.

Still waiting on mine to arrive.

Doesn’t the TONEX pedal connect to the TONEX software through your computer, to download Tone Models?

So I wouldn’t be so sure your TONEX pedal will still be working in a few years, given IK’s track record of supporting their hardware.

You’d also think a USB MIDI controller like the StealthPedal would still work as a generic plug-and-play USB device, but you’d be wrong.

I assume that one day you'll be stuck with whatever models were loaded before the activation servers are switched off...
