Here's another example using MSEG's to move between different Arp "snapshots". The midi clip is again 1 bar looping chord. Again 3 layered Arps all going to one Polymer sound.

I'm hoping we get an up to date manual for 5. The existing manual still shows lots of old devices.

I got Linux Mint v20 and bitwig v5.0beta6 logs me out of my desktop entirely after the splash screen loads!
4.4.10 works just fine with none of that.
Looked at logs and theres nothing of use. Says nothing about my system or anything....

I don't know what it is, every time a new version comes out somebody experiences a poof behavior of Bitwig. I've had that in the past with versions 3 and 4 on a Windows machine. Usually these problems are ironed out when beta is over. Support was helpful in my case. And sorry, I forgot what the problem was.

The Browser still driving me nuts. Old Collections / Smart Collection did not appear as it has to be. Some VST3 didn't work (izotope BreakTweaker for example). VST2 is fine. Can't wait for the next bugfixing release and hope that this things will be fixed. Allover I love the 5 Version with all of the new possibilities.

Do you guys know if it's now possible with Bitwig 5 to record the tempo modulation from an external device ? I have the same midi pattern that plays at different tempos on my octatrack, with the sync on, Bitwig recognizes the tempo changes but I can't find a way to record it and to have it as automation.

In your version of Bitwig (pre-5) did you try recording into the Master track? That is where tempo and other stuff like fill and groove are recorded.trostiflex wrote: Mon May 08, 2023 8:35 am Do you guys know if it's now possible with Bitwig 5 to record the tempo modulation from an external device ? Yes I did that, it doesn't work. Somehow it doesn't record the changes. In your version of Bitwig (pre-5) did you try recording into the Master track? That is where tempo and other stuff like fill and groove are recorded.
There might be workarounds, like recording a LFO modulating a macro, since LFOs are bpm based, and then translate this into tempo automation, but it's clunky. Also, something like Bome Midi Translator might work, I could manage to convert midi transport data into CC and then translate that into tempo automation, but it's also clunky.
Frankly, if Bitwig 5 could do this natively, it would be way easier.

Finally checking the new stuff out. Where did post recording actions go? I used to be able to set the length for clip recording under the play button and now it's not there...
