Uh this is great. Since the undo history is reset on every opening of the gui, what about a button like „reset to last state“ which resets to the state of the time of opening, so you can back to this initial state always, no matter how many undo steps are filled?

This could be a quick-store button, which you could fill any time by right clicking it and which will be filled on gui opening… it could be simply stored with your save preset functionality and once re-stored/left-clicked, undo history was reset again.

Then you could develop your preset from point to point, without any hassle.

Or even better two mini buttons “A/B”, just like renoise, but with resetting the undo history on restore, so you don't have to handle complex undo states and multi parameter undos.

Yes, hopefully we'll get to play with Zebralette 3 later this year, maybe August-ish? :hyper:

I read somewhere, that oscillators in Zebra 3 will be the same as Hive 2. Is it true?

Not fully true.

The playback algorithm for unsion wavetable stuff will be the same. But the source for these wavetables won't be restricted to just .wav and .uhm files (e.g. they can be based on editable bezier curves) and there will also be oscillator effects similar to those in Zebra2.

On that topic, I think Zebra 3 will have both the most easiest and fastest to use wavetable editor I've seen, and the most complex one. One can switch back and forth between these two, depending on how much detail one needs. And one can also export those wavetables to Hive then.

Will oscillator FX still stick to only one feature/parameter, or can you do two now? Will Zebra 3 also be able to do the XY position thing that's already in Hive?

Post

OscFX can have multiple parameters.

2-dimensional wavetable scanning isn't really on my wish list for this one. It has quite a few concepts already which I think might be on a head exploding level. I'd like to see how far we get with those before we go too crazy on things.

Will Z3 gonna be beta this year?

Post

I'd rather not promise anything. I'll be happy if we manage to release Zebralette 3 this year, which we will release in advance of Z3.

Anyhow, we still have some way to go to release Filterscape, AAX on Mac, CLAP versions, NKS updates, full MPE support and eventually also get out new alphas or betas of Uhbik. Even if much of that is cared for by other devs, and even if I could spend most of my dev time on Z3, each of these things will require some attention from me, and each of these things will have to happen before any beta of Z3 can be released.

But yeah, Zebralette 3 should happen this year, and I'm currently working crazy hours to make a yet pre-alpha version of her presentable for Superbooth in less than two weeks.

Post

As i understand Filterscape will also gonna be a synth?

Will Tyrell update gonna happen?

Post

Filterscape Is a synth already in the current version, a plugin called Filterscape VA is included...

Full MPE Support also for Hive 2, Diva, (probably not Zebra2) etc.? Does that include Timbre / MPE slide as dedicated modulation source? That would be very nice :)

Can you right-click on the points of a curve and enter precise value? For instance, 94° = +0.59
How about right-clicking on a bezier curve and enter a precise value?
Are these two actions possible?
If not, can they be implemented pretty please?

Do you have an actual example where Grid snapping isn't enough?

That said, as I explained, the copy/paste format is text based in Hive's .uhm format. There are binary perfect numbers for point coordinates, and there are human readable numbers. Anything you can type, you can type in a text editor anyway, should it be worth the effort.

I don’t know about coming soon, I’m sure one of my neighbours managed to wrap his Z3 around a tree quite a few years ago.

Are you safe?
