Automation View // Opening Automation Lanes

Hey everyone!

I know this is just a little detail, but it bugs me a bit and wanted to ask, if there is a solution.

When I work on a bigger project and have one track highlighted and I want to open the automations, everything "scrolls" up and I have to scroll down again and search for that highlighted track. In other DAW's (Logic & Ableton) the view stays in the same focus on that highlighted track, which always saves time.
Is there a "stay in view" option I am missing out?

I doubt there is a solution. Searching for them as well. There are some of those UX glitches. It would be best to send a feature request to Bitwig.

I just tried it out and didn't manage to experience the bug. I m in the Arrangement-View: When i use a) the show automation button, b) Shortcut for "toggle automation shown for selected track" c) Shortcut for "toggle automation shown for all tracks",
Bitwig does not move up/down vertically. I have more tracks open than the arrangement view (with big clips) can show at the same time, about 16 Tracks.

Sounds like a bug that OP is experiencing in his version, and that Nowiamone’s version has fixed.

Which version are you on Nowi?

Bitwig 5 Beta 8 was the version i tested it with - and didn't experience it

aah hey, thank you all for getting back! I am still with Bitwig 4 (want to wait until bugs get fixed), so I am glad to hear, that it will be fixed in Version 5, I guess

Hey guys, sorry for getting the threat up again, but I updated to the newest version and it still is the same..

Hello, sorry that i cant check again, because i only have access to my phone atm. Maybe it's only happening when you have many automation lanes?

If you still experience it, the best thing would be to write down the steps which lead to the behavior, so it’s 100% reproduceable, and then maybe write it to Bitwigs support

hey thanks for getting back! actually I wrote already and they say, it is normal behavior, I should always go for "open automation lane for selected track".
that way only one track opens it and it won't scroll.. But I added it to the wishlist
