Oh you're right, the current wrappers go the other direction. I thought they were further along with X-to-CLAP wrappers, pity.mutools wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 11:06 amI was thinking similarly but the issue is that there is no VST3-to-CLAP wrapper atm.hey212 wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 2:15 am 2) It would give you external plugin support for all major formats FOR FREE, through the CLAP-VST2, CLAP-VST3, CLAP-AU, CLAP-ETC wrappers.

I think the CLAP devs are more focused on establishing CLAP as a base format to wrap to the other closed formats. We might see some work on XXX->CLAP wrappers from Kush Element and similar plugin hosts, but these tend to be more closed source type projects. Maybe eventually, there will be something available that's transparent, that is no opening a window to open a window, which is a big turn off for me in the wrapper world.hey212 wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 2:19 pmOh you're right, the current wrappers go the other direction. I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

Ya 100%, it makes sense from the standpoint of building adoption to work on CLAP-to-X wrappers before X-to-CLAP wrappers, because X-to-CLAP only has value for DAW devs, while CLAP-to-X has value for the much larger population of plugin devs. Just a shame, would love to have better plugin support in MuLab and CLAP seems like the ideal solution both practically and philosophically, it's just early days.

The question about support for plugins has come to an end and conclusion is loud and clear:
MuLab will continue to support plugins!
Concrete: MuLab will continue to support VST2 plugins and will also support CLAP plugins!
