This looks like a really useful module for converting between the TRS MIDI leads with A and B formats. I know I tend to lose track of which devices take what.

The swawnflight case hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting nervous the looming UPS strike will affect this

Just had a check and it looks like they’d only go on strike if no deal is reached by the 31st.Constructed Identity wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 1:45 am The swawnflight case hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting nervous the looming UPS strike will affect this

Sounds like a time to save money and not buy things.

What are you waging? I bet they will come to a deal. It’s going to come down to the last days, or even last day.Constructed Identity wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 2:01 amI bet no deal will be reached. emailed swawnflight and they said 35 day turnaround.elxsound wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 1:52 amJust had a check and it looks like they’d only go on strike if no deal is reached by the 31st.Constructed Identity wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 1:45 am The swawnflight case hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting nervous the looming UPS strike will affect this![]()
I’ve seen the same thing happen with hospitals and nursing staff… they brokered a deal the night before the start of the strike.
I’ve also seen statements from UPS making assurances that they’re close to meeting the demands. That tells me they’ve got more to lose if a strike happens (USPS, DHL, FedEx and others?)

Yeah, I doubt I'll order anything until I'm certain there won't be a strike. However, if there is a strike, I won't be ordering anything until it's over and things are back to normal. Shipping delays and uncertainties are a huge pet peeve of mine.
If there is a strike of any length, my main concern will be things like medical supplies. Some members of my family are really counting on their supplies to show up on time.

Yeah, my wife just stocked up as much as she could (not much given insurance company stuff) on her UPS-delivered meds. I know some shippers have contracts with shipper and can't easily switch to another company, but hopefully there's an exception for something like this...McLilith wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 5:45 am If there is a strike of any length, my main concern will be things like medical supplies. Even if a shipper isn't locked into a particular shipping company, I've read the other shipping companies simply don't have enough surge capacity to completely stand in for UPS during the strike. A prolonged strike could be very painful for the entire nation. I hope UPS finds a way to satisfactorily meet the needs of all their employees and avert a lengthy strike. It's in everyone's best interest.foosnark wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 2:15 pmYeah, my wife just stocked up as much as she could (not much given insurance company stuff) on her UPS-delivered meds. to completely stand in, no perhaps not. but to take on essential delivery's? i would imagine (basing this on the uk obviously) some level of government would step in to ensure certain things are covered?McLilith wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 5:56 pmEven if a shipper isn't locked into a particular shipping company, I've read the other shipping companies simply don't have enough surge capacity to completely stand in for UPS during the strike. If things get bad enough, I'm sure the government will eventually do "something" to alleviate the situation. President Biden is a staunch supporter of labor unions. I'm sure he'll lean toward a resolution that protects the workers as much as possible, which is something I also support.vurt wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 6:49 pm to completely stand in, no perhaps not. but to take on essential delivery's? i would imagine (basing this on the uk obviously) some level of government would step in to ensure certain things are covered?
On the bright side, folks in the USA will finally stop bitching about their Behringer synths being delayed by slow shipping from China!
Soon, they'll be bitching about their Behringer synths sitting in overflowing American warehouses, with no UPS drivers to deliver them to their house!
If things get bad enough, I predict Cherry Audio will start cloning Behringer synths to bypass the shipping issue entirely.

Sadly another side effect of warehouse overload is lost shipments. It might be a
risky proposition to ship stuff while thats
going on. In the past i've had lost shipments
due to that, that were never revovered, or replaced for that matter.
*The shipping companies themselves use the
expected delays to prevent you from even
filing a claim until its too late. kid u not.
