Urs,
Do you consider to add preset randomizer in Zebra 3, like Genetics in Dune3 (Absynth 5 also has this feature as i remember)?

Check out the new Filterscape VA... It has a randomize button with change slider.Stan Navi wrote: Sun Aug 13, 2023 6:55 pm Urs,

Let me see if i have understood it right...
Old customers that have Zebra2 (200$) got Zebra Legacy (with all the "goodies") for free and will have a 30$ upgrade price to Zebra3...ok? So, 230$.
New customers that buy Zebra Legacy (100$) have no upgrade plan but the full Zebra3 price (probably 200$)..
In what world is this fair to the new customers? Not in the one we are living.
It would be fair to pay 130$ upgrade to Zebra3, not the full price...they already payed 100$.
If you just want to be fair to everyone...
You say that 100 bucks for Legacy is a bargain ...well, ZebraHZ , yes, but the sound sets... not so much. I am trialing it now and i barely found a few presets i can use (i am not making movie music)... they are so dated, old and most of them are the same. So thanks for the sound sets, but i think i`ll do my own presets. I`ll buy Legacy if you come with a fair upgrade plan for Z3...fair, i mean i am willing to pay just the amount old customers do. Thanks.

You do not know what the average Zebra2 customer has invested, you just assume.
We have communicated this whole thing for almost a year before we made that switch. We are still communicating. Companies are not obliged to communicate (and commonly don't) any of these things beforehand, so I think we're pretty good in regards of fairness.
That said, we see Zebra Legacy in the first place as targeting people who use presets a lot. This bargain is for them. If you do not use presets, it's probably not for you, and I'm glad you found that out before buying into it.

I was just doing the math there...and it looks to me that the new customers (those who buy Legacy now) are clearly disadvantaged (regarding upgrade to Z3). And yes, i don`t know what the Zebra2 customer has invested over the years, but i assume there are people among them that invested just the synth price and nothing else. Anyway, it doesn`t matter, who am i to judge?

I see your point, but the math shouldn't be necessarily consistent over time. You should instead see Legacy at 99 bucks as a kind of a gift or at least a substantial discount... Zebra 2 is an incredible synth which is still standing well despite its age. And, being Zebra 3 a completely different synth, it's good for who took the plunge and managed to get the free upgrade (*that* was a gift for who supported Zebra in the first place) and fair anyway for who couldn't get it....namete80 wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 12:39 pm I was just doing the math there...and it looks to me that the new customers (those who buy Legacy now) are clearly disadvantaged (regarding upgrade to Z3). The math is not in favour of anything. If we added an upgrade path from ZL to Z3, we surely would need to either include ZL in Z3, or also offer a discounted path.
Including ZL in Z3 would require us to make Z3 a lot more expensive. This is not an option for us.
Adding a downgrade is also not a path which we wish to pursue. We think 99€ for Zebra Legacy is a great bargain and we do not want to discount it any further - not for Diva users, not for those who have everything else, and thus also not for those who buy Zebra3 once it becomes available.
Therefore it is what it is. If Zebra Legacy had an upgrade path to Zebra3, we'd sell it for a lot more than 99€. We don't, so there is none.

I think by having the conversation whats fair and whats not for new customers, we have to mention that old customers had to pay full price of 199 eu/229 usd which is understandable why there is an upgrade path

Also, that did not include all the sound sets which they may have paid for in addition to the original purchase price.Lbdunequest wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 2:53 pm I think by having the conversation whats fair and whats not for new customers, we have to mention that old customers had to pay full price of 199 eu/229 usd which is understandable why there is an upgrade path![]()

Indeed, I probably paid over $500 between Zebra2, Zebra HZ and some of the banks they sold (I didn't even buy all), and a new user now pays $99 for all of that.
You are right, the Maths don't add up
.
Hell, didn't the Dark Zebra soundset alone cost $99?

I think its not fair Zebra legacy is sold at 99 usd. Please make it at least 129 to make it fair without an upgrade path
