Some more info please.

I realized that the scales problem relates to the MPE problem. When I disable MPE the notes are all in correct pitch corresponding to the selected scale.

needed to test few things on a different machine, where I don't normally use Bitwig, so didn't want to juggle activation slots in my account. and also test few claims about bugs being related to pirated version vs clean licensed one. rest assured I'm running a licensed version on my main PC and got upgrade plans stockpiled :)

You can use the Drum 64 mode. Make sure that "Turn off empty drum pads" in is disabled in the settings.
Hi I did those things and the pads containing samples are still not lit up using XO. its ok no biggie
I forgot to mention: simply put an empty drum machine before XO.
Hi I did that but the only pad that lights up is the one I play.
Did you disable "Turn off empty drum pads"?
yes

Noted.

Would be curious to see what you are doing with this. Any videos?
Hi! I really hope you could implement bipolar axis mapping or alternatively having ability to use different mappings for Y+/- and X+/- for each stick  it gives way more possibilities for using it in live performance. In the mean time I have to stick to my old patch in Usine, where I can map out all available 'CV' and 'Gate' signals from gamepad to anything I need, including midi.

I would also like to use it for some XY type modulators, as controlling the dot by touch or mouse directly is currently poorly implemented unfortunately.

teknoman wrote: Sat Jul 22, 2023 1:52 am Hi Moss,

I have a feature request for Generic Flexi and perhaps other scripts as an option (I looked and didn't see it so I'm posting here). I was messing with tons of Max4Live customizations in Ableton and one of the cool devices was a way to control the last touched or active parameter (info here - https://elisabethhomeland.gumroad.com/l ... ut=profile). You map any knob/fader/button/etc on your hardware controller to the M4L device and then that knob will always adjust the last touched control in Ableton.

In BW this could work as follows - option in Generic Flexi under 'Selected Slot - Function' for 'Adjust Last Parameter', then we simply assign a knob to it. I'm not sure if the BW Controller API will allow this directly, but perhaps there is a clever way to emulate this if not.

I made the switch to using a laptop and my phone (using TouchOSC) for music production and thought about how useful this would be for people with limited space or on the go. You really don't realize how useful this is until you try it. FWIW the Ableton implementation was not good. Many 3rd party M4L devices are just not stable or usable.

I think something like this in Generic Flexi would help a lot of people to get things done quicker. Clicking around your project and adjusting things with a knob is easier/quicker/more precise than using mouse/trackpad to adjust them. It also let's you focus on production easier because you aren't stressing about whether or not you have the optimum layout for your controller (or going back and forth adjusting the controller assignments).

What do you think?
That is sadly still missing in the API.
Just thought I'd reply here in case anyone saw this and also wanted to try it. I managed to get this to work, but not with a BW script. I used TouchOSC to create a virtual knob with various parameters that gets fed into Midi Translator Pro and then controls my mouse.

Touching the virtual knob sends a note on and presses the mouse down. Then turning the knob up sends a CC to control upward mouse movement, and likewise when turning the knob down. To release the mouse button, just let go of the virtual knob.

Then I have my phone next to my laptop, mouse with one hand and turn the knob with the other. Adjust any parameter under the mouse, you don't even have to click it :).

Not sure if this could be done with a hardware knob since the virtual knob is sending out 4 different MIDI commands (note on whenever touched, note off whenever not touched, CCx for up, CCy for down).

Hmmm... maybe my MFT can do this. I'll have to check, but I won't post any further here since this is not DBM related. Thanks!

Great job for the SL MkIII :tu:
Just one suggestion (or question) : in Scale mode, the keyboard lights lit correctly, but when I go to inControl mode , the lights go back to "normal" mode. Best where if the lights continue to show the Scale. Is it possible ? Thank you.
You can enable the lightguide in the settings.
I'm sorry, but the lightguide is ON in the settings. The lights are correct out of the InControl, but do not respect the scale inside the InControl mode. Is there another "setting" ??

lightguide.jpg
Do you have the latest Firmware installed?
It works fine for me. Even if I disable the DrivenByMoss light guide it comes up with the hardware lights. Only thing is that it is off for audio tracks.
Yes, up to date :
- Bitwig 5.0.4
- Firmware SL 1.44.0 (no update available)
- Moss 21.0.0 (09.08.2023)

In inControl, the lightguide goes back to standard (white keys) but the filtering for the scale is correct.

As you can seen : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gd9PaO ... sp=sharing
Ah, I see. That is the expected behaviour. I have no info about the hardware setting and DrivenByMoss provides its own scale setting which is also stored with each project individually (see the scale settings in the manual).

That is not supported by Generic Flexi.

The MPE bending does always use semi-tones and does not respect the scale.

I added this already in version 20.3.1.

Hi Jürgen (my question about the scales ...) :tu: I'd never thought of going to see the project settings :dog:
Thank you, its also OK in Reaper, great.

Great fixed and confirmed!

Moss i hope you do not get me wrong but i found another issue which needs some improvements on the Launchpad pro mk3:

The Pan and the Sends sliders work arbitrarily sometimes they slide nice sometimes they are stuck sometimes they jump.
The volume sliders seem to work correctly it looks like. I thought it could be related to simultaneously using the Launchkey but i disconnected the Launchkey and exactly the same behaviour i had.

I hope this can be improved?

Hello.

I have a problem with Akai fire and launchpad pro script, when I want to delete a clip, if I have the start recording option activated by pressing rec arm in the menu, this does not delete the clip, but starts recording the clip again in place, this did not happen in previous versions like 19.2.2.

I would also like to know if it would be possible to return the momentary shift option instead of leaving it active or toggle, this would make it easier to play live and return to the screen you were on without having to press again, although I understand that the option was released for the new bitwig alt options. A way to choose between the two in the menu from akai fire, launchpad pro and maschine mk3 would be great.

Cheers!
