so the Theia folder is redundant - it makes sense to just use the Hyperion Folder.
Actually Theia is probably redundant too - but we need to check there's nothing there that we're missing
Did you use LABOUR23 or LABOR23? It's an American holiday, hence the latter.zeph wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 6:31 am I tried to purchase Theia a few times, using the Labour23, coupon. Each time I have had payment problems, with Paypal or credit card.
Please can Tracktion fix this AND HELP ME - please send me an email.
After looking at them, I'm not sure that there are any new patches either; I think I misinterpreted a comment in an email about Theia to mean that there were additional patches. So far, I haven't found any, but I haven't looked through them all.aMUSEd wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 8:01 amWhat patches that don't appear in Hyperion? So, to get back to the question originally posed, is there an answer to my question: do current Hyperion owners then get Theia (with the patches which do not occur in Hyperion) for free as it seems to be stated on the website? If so, what's the story with the free trial? Is this a mistake of some sort?pough wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:35 pm From a comment by wavesequencer on YouTube
Yes - that's what we decided to do. In fact you effectively already have Theia inside Hyperion (the combi/big knobs page), but you might like to use the simpler limited interface of Theia.
I beginning to think the "redundancy" conclusion is probably largely correct. Perhaps, just running Theia is less of a hit on RAM or the CPU, but I'm wondering just how big a difference this would be or if it would matter to most in a given instance.jbraner wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 8:07 am I did a quick comparison (with folder match, not counting by hand) and there isn't anything in the Theia folder that isn't in the Hyperion one - but there are 200 ones in the Hyperion folder that aren't in the Theia.

There's an eye icon in the download manager which hides unwanted items in the list. I don't get distracted by unwanted content anymore.pough wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 11:29 pm Speaking of which, does anyone know how to get the free trials to go away? I demo'd KULT a while back and decided not to get it. Now the download manager hassles me when it gets updated.
I thought the same thing...After looking at them, I'm not sure that there are any new patches either; I think I misinterpreted a comment in an email about Theia to mean that there were additional patches.
Don't bother - I used a file comparison utility to compare the two foldersSo far, I haven't found any, but I haven't looked through them all.

I think what may have been meant was there will be additional patch banks coming for Theia (and Hyperion) - Tracktion have clearly hit on the idea that you can sell a lot more addon banks if you create player versions of the plugins they were created in, than if you require everyone to buy the full product to use them.dlandis wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 4:44 pmAfter looking at them, I'm not sure that there are any new patches either; I think I misinterpreted a comment in an email about Theia to mean that there were additional patches. TBH I'm quite short on budget, so I welcome those two new players.aMUSEd wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 5:26 pm I think what may have been meant was there will be additional patch banks coming for Theia (and Hyperion) - Tracktion have clearly hit on the idea that you can sell a lot more addon banks if you create player versions of the plugins they were created in, than if you require everyone to buy the full product to use them.
