eerie_audio wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 2:23 pm This seems like a reason not to include a clip launcher in Studio One version 7.

Sure does.
Sure! So a S1 user wishes to have a Clip Launcher in the near future built in S1 and now He/She must be so excited not to have it in S1 and so trilled to spend extra $300, or about, on another DAW with the CL PLUS the additional S1 usual upgrade?

So that S1 can focus on what they do best... which is? :hihi:
I wasn't implying it was a good reason for them to not include a clip launcher. I was leaning more towards their reason why they would decide to skip adding it again for version 7. Even if a lot of people are expecting it in this day an age of modern electronic music. It seems like a conflict of interest for their new format, if they don't even need the cross platforming.
I got that but I was using the post to answer the general thinking of “No need to add a specific feature in our DAW since, with the new protocol, the user can take our project file and go to another DAW to use a “feature we are not going to add because we need to focus on what we do best”. :dog:
Let the users invest in another DAW while they still paying for un update which is not going to include a “popular demand” feature… and on and on….

I don’t think that’s the intention of this new protocol…

CLAP is doing very well... both in terms of it's development and use

CLAP is crap

That's an interesting point of view lol.
I would try to argument but I am too busy playing with polyphonic modulations on small plugins like DIVA or HIVE.

Ignorance is bliss.

chk071 wrote: Tue Sep 26, 2023 3:49 pm You suggested another format. I don't need another format. That's the point. Either VST3 should support this, or Steinberg should develop an offspring which supports this, if they argue that VST is an audio plugin format, not a MIDI plugin format.
Sorry but with this kind of reasoning we would still be listening to music on vinyls...

CLAP has real and measurable improvements against vst3. It isn't changing format for the pleasure of changing format. And it is open source.... An other advantage against vst3.

I though it was a Sampler :?

I'm sure this is great for some but one daw for a project should be fine. Everything is too complicated.

A good one actually

Even if this could help me transfer 50% of a project over from one DAW to another, then it's a win. I used to have to save out MIDI clips individually, import them individually, and then reassemble the project from the ground up, also including individual samples. A complete PITA.

This will also be great for sending a project out for a remix.

I hope that features that are not recognized by the current DAW are gracefully ignored. This will help even with the same DAW, but different versions of you have to go back in time for whatever reason, such as to use an older plugin where a newer version is not available anymore.

There are so many more uses than just plain collaboration.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Actually I do prefere Bleass. Like the awesome fabfilter, they propose their plugin in iOS compatible format also. It is great for sketching and have fun on the go and import easily after.

By the way it would be awesome to have bitwig or presonus to have a mobile version so we can easily transfer.
I wouldn't mind using S1 on ipad and move at one moment to bitwig on my laptop.

Ignorance 2.0 is in Beta. Applications are open but you need minimum 2 incompatible DAWs :D

CLAP is crap
Saying something is crap is not an argument. Can you elaborate why you think it is crap?
