Actually that was quick, I thought it was only in testing but you should now see your authorizations as they were since previous purchases were restored to 10 authorizations (minus the ones used, of course, so you're back to where they were) with the exception of Lurssen Mastering Console, Hammond B-3X, and ARC System 3. Going forward, new accounts and purchases will have the 5 authorizations which still gives more than the three devices allowed per the EULA and there is a feature request logged requesting the ability to de-authorize computers that you may no longer have access to as a self-service task in IK Product Manager or similar. Thanks!

That's where it should be, no? The change that was made was down to max of five authorizations. I mention that the ones you have authorized will still count toward the 10.Bombadil wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 4:38 pm My product manager hasn't changed. Everything in 8-10 range.

I realised this after checking 2 different Product Manager installations.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 10:36 pm Our support team should reply with this or similar if contacted but please note: As you have noticed, the maximum number of authorizations per IK product has been changed from 10 to 5.
A rolling authorisation that only keeps the latest authorisations, or a model similar to Plugin Alliance seem to work. I've lost activations in the past after a reformat and forgetting to de-authorise. HDD failure, system upgrades and malware could cause potential issues with lost activations. Just sayin......Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 10:36 pm Although our EULA limits the installation of our software to 3 devices, in the past there was no way to unauthorize licenses so we increased the number of authorizations provided as a workaround to save you the trouble of contacting support each time the limit would have been reached.
Since IK’s new Product Manager introduced the ability for users to manage authorizations, including removing and re-activating them at will, we have reverted to our system to previous behavior. With the ability to unauthorize as needed, you should never reach the limit of your authorizations.
In the rare case this does happen, please just contact IK Support and they’ll take care of you as always.

Thank you Peter for looking after this for me. I now have enough authorizations to manage this. I can deauthorize the computers and move licenses around now that I know this is how it is handled. It is a good solution as well. That was really helpful, super appreciated and generally fantastic.
Scotty wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 11:23 pm I just experienced this surprise and I don't like to have to call home to ask permission to use the software. This a problem for me in particular as I have had to recently deal with reformatting 3 computers due to a malware issue. The website indicated numerous authorizations left but to my surprise the product manager indicates roughly half that amount on each given software title. I know you feel this is justified given the change in policy/capability of deactivation to reclaim an authorization but that option was either unavailable to me or I didn't know it was there (more likely) which ends up with the same result. This is a surprise and an unpleasant one. I am a big IK fan. Didn't see this one coming.

I think atually IK should limit all authorizations to 5, even existing products, but at the same time give users the ability to delete old authorizations from their User Account, like almost every other developer does (example: Arturia). That would guarantee that users could always have 5 current active authorizations, and not worry about losing any to antiquity.

Why are those an exception?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2023 3:41 pm with the exception of Lurssen Mastering Console, Hammond B-3X, and ARC System 3.
And, is Lurssen Mastering Console dead? It's never been updated for Apple Silicon.

That would be a good addition. If you lose access to a computer (theft, hard drive crash etc) being able to deactivate a machine from the user account would be helpful. Something for future consideration.

Yes. I have 1 used up authorization on all owned plugins due to hardware failure. As I can no longer access that machine to de-activate it, users should always be able to deactivate old broken machines, from within our user accounts.Scotty wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 1:36 pm That would be a good addition. Isn't that literally what Peter said they've just changed their policy to?jamcat wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 2:46 am I think atually IK should limit all authorizations to 5, even existing products, but at the same time give users the ability to delete old authorizations from their User Account, like almost every other developer does (example: Arturia). That said I just checked and mine are all high numbers of authorisations again.

No, that’s not what Peter said and that’s not what IK does. You cannot recover lost authorizations remotely through your User Account login. You have to have access to the machine with an authorization, and deauthorize it with the IK Product Manager locally.noiseboyuk wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 5:41 pmIsn't that literally what Peter said they've just changed their policy to?jamcat wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 2:46 am I think actually IK should limit all authorizations to 5, even existing products, but at the same time give users the ability to delete old authorizations from their User Account, like almost every other developer does (example: Arturia). Correct, at this time you do not have the ability to remove authorizations on computers to which you no longer have access but the team is aware that this is a highly requested feature.

TONEX is updated to version 1.5.
Tone model management is much better now, particularly for collections.
If you have any purchased collections, make sure to hit ≡ → Restore Purchases
