UAD still worth it?

The plugins I miss from my time with the UAD1 are the Space Echo and the Dimension D and the LA2A. In the meantime there are others like Arturia but UA already had that maybe 15 years ago. The MK2 versions of the LA2A also emulate the non-linear distortions and are certainly on a par with Waves CLA, Softube etc. (maybe even better).
The free version but also the upgrades to the bundles are certainly very interesting.

So I just bought 6 UAD plugins for nothing?

Have you checked your offers? Isn't there a deeper discounted path to the Mix bundle?

There doesn't seem to be.

The 50€ euro essentials upgrade bundle thing is just silly good value. All of the plugins included are top notch. Especially the Pure Plate reverb, Galaxy delay and the Iron Oxide tape things. Those are the stand outs in my opinion.. but even the pultecs and the compressors can be useful. The LA-2 is really interesting in how slow yet natural it is with the compression.
It's such a great deal I wish I'd never bought anything from UAD before.

I didn't like the Galaxy delay - just did the demo and really disliked it, putting it into my "never buy" pile. But some people definitely seem to love it.

Almost all have alternatives nearly as good, the same, or a bit better. But at that price the bundle is unbeatable for anyone without anything from UAD. If I liked the Galaxy I'd be tempted even though I have all but 3 of them already (having spent a $150-$200 over the last few months to buy them, like a sucker, thinking I was getting reasonable deals). But $50 for the LA2A and Century (or is it Hitsville?) isn''t worth it to me.

Galaxy was good for the time, never great, and certainly nothing special now 15 years later. EP-34, OTOH, is fantastic but I don’t think it’s native yet.

I like it a lot. It sounds really unique. I do agree that it's perhaps not exactly an accurate emulation (the IK Multimedia version is much better in this regard) but instead it has a very unique sound to it's feedback and also the reverb part. It's sort of compressed/condensed a lot more than other plugin versions of the famous Roland box, which in term means it fits within a mix context extremely easily.. much easier to fit than any of my other 201 emulations.

The EP-34 is great fun. IK have a version of that too which isn't bad at all, but there's more control with the UAD version.

I only just realised that there's an awful lot of plugins that UAD still haven't ported to native, I thought they'd made faster progress than this. Have they said anything about a roadmap?

Their schedule is porting "1-2 plugins every 4-6 weeks".

There is no roadmap.

I opened a thread about it but had no replies so far, since this thread is lot more lively I will shamelessly ask it in here, sorry in advance.

I have PreSonus 1824c interface and I'm using Studio One.
For a long while, I wanted to monitor my mic input while singing with FX and zero delay, I know normally this isn't that possible. Because even when I use Auto-Tune, Preamp, and Comp while monitoring I have almost a second of delay. This becomes even more impossible as I start mixing the song and then recording the vocal.

So, I saw UAD's Satellite but I can't get the information I'm looking for.
If I get that Satellite unit, will I be able to:

1. Monitor my vocals without any delay no matter how many plugins I run through the Satellite.
2. To directly put DSP plugins to S1's input fx rack and record my vocal through the fx? (For instance, preamp)

And finally, how many plugins can I run through UAD-2 Satellite USB?
Right now, I'm thinking of this monitor chain:
Preamp
AutoTune
Opto or FET Comp
Reverb

Would it be enough for these?

Or would it be wiser to buy something like Apollo Solo USB Heritage Edition and record/monitor my vocal (and maybe guitar) through it and still use 1824c for my synths and outputs. (Can I use two interfaces at the same time?)

Get the Apollo. The Satellite is not for you. The latency with the Satellite would be considered unusable to most people.

Thanks for the reply. How do I connect Apollo and 1824c to my PC at the same time? Will there be any problem setting it up? Simply, I want my Mic and Guitar (and monitoring headphones) to be connected to apollo and all my other gear to be connected to the 1824c (synths, monitors, other headphones). Is it possible?

Sorry, I don’t know how to do that.

Oh man. Registered, registered iLok, UA Connect... -> Let's Try Something Else error - always.

What is weird, they want access to your iLok. I have no idea why. This should be a no-go… UA connect asks for my iLok password… That is the opposite of data minimization…
