Yeah, if a package is damaged to the point where the outer box is no longer intact they usually send it back to the shipper. If they cut a check as the result of a claim/loss, that will also go to the shipper. Then you have to trust that the shipper will send you what you are owed.McLilith wrote: Wed Oct 18, 2023 11:47 am On the other hand, if they found my missing TS-12, why aren't they sending it to me?![]()
If you purchased through Reverb, getting them involved is a really good idea. Much more likely to have a satisfying resolution that way.
I had a situation a long while back with a FedEx shipment where the outer box I shipped got destroyed but inside the box was a flight case, which had a copy of the shipping label on it, so they just continued the shipment, as if nothing had happened. I had sent them pictures before I dropped off the package, so the recipient was very surprised when the package arrived without the outer box!
I try to take pictures of stuff during the packing process, and when the package gets dropped off or picked up (with a dated receipt in the shot, if I can), just in case of problem. I've been thinking of throwing an Air Tag in the box whenever I ship something more than $1k.
