Only show some tracks

I'm trying to develop a workflow that's equally fast and has as much on-screen awareness, i.e. hide bloated information.
I got to the conclusion that for me in this regard, it's essential to be able to select and only show the tracks of interest while hiding the rest, as I have dozens and dozens of tracks and I work on arbitrary groups of tracks at different times. I'd like to see them at a glance and only them.
Ideally, there was a window or a bar with switchable buttons corresponding to tracks.
Why have them all over again when they're already on the right, vertically?
1. I want as many, if not all, track buttons to be directly visible.
2. The ability to hide or show a track with just a click.
Is there a way to achieve this via any addons?
Maybe it could be achieved with JavaScript macros?
Doing some research, I found several javascript functions in the API documentation that, judging by name, could come in handy:
- expandSelectedTracks
- setTrackHeight
But I don't think creating UI-interactive buttons and panels is ever possible. Or is it?
But in the worst-case scenario, I'd have the tracks mapped to an additional MIDI keyboard with track names written on the keys.
I'm completely new to this kind of stuff, and I'd appreciate it if someone would help me out with their ideas or expertise.

Waveform has the ability to hide tracks (in the Tracks tab of the Browser). I have no idea if it's a Pro-only feature.
There is also an ability to group tracks (in the Groups tab of the Browser) and if you give a group the ability to share visibility to can easily hide or show groups of tracks.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

You can also create folders for tracks to spin them open. This is more administrative than practical, though, but a good way to hide tracks you're not using.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Thank you! I now have 2 leads to start from. Track list in the browser resembles very well what I'm after. I didn't know of it. It would have been just perfect if I could reduce the browser panel width even further than it's now allowed.

If a browser width of none would be useful, you can get that via the eye icon in the top right corner.TheOdin wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 2:14 pm Thank you! I now have 2 leads to start from. Thank you. As a side note, I appreciate very much the community I found here
About the minimum panel width until I'll find a way to hack the layout I'm using it as is. For the moment I'm thankful for the track list feature itself! My eyes and hands are let's say, not excellent and I got the interface a bit zoomed in so this brings about unused space here and there

Is there a way to hide some tracks in the edit/arranger view but have the tracks still showing in the mixer? I need this because when I use multi out wrappers, I only have clips on one tracks and a whole bunch of empty tracks receiving sounds from that one track. I'd like to have only the track with the midi/sequencer clip showing in the edit/arrange view, while on the mixer, all the other tracks are visible along side the track with the midi clip.
