What is the name of the license file and where is it stored on Windows 10?
I'm trying to activate within DAW and get the message "Cannot write license file. Please remove write protection."
Has anyone had to adjust permissions on the folder or the license file itself?

I believe it's 'AVGR.license' and on my system is located at C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS AvengerMusical Gym wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 1:58 am What is the name of the license file and where is it stored on Windows 10?
How are you trying to apply the license file? Through VMAN? You might try running that as administrator. I haven't had to change any permissions, but I also don't run my system with UAC enabled either.

Ok cool. I for one definitely still use and appreciate manuals, especially for a beast like this, there's no "Command + F" in a video.msvs wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:18 pm not yet, we covered all NEW stuff up in YT videos. We know that only 1% even bothering downloading a manual nowadays. I think that is a pity, since the manual is very good. I always enjoyed reading big manuals

2.02 also rises the CPU in a short milisecond sometimes to 100 % but i don't hear any dropouts, it's much better and i can use macros now in Ableton to controll the synth, but it's not perfect optimized. It's only on VST3 and doesn't apear in VST2.
MAybe it has something to do with the ableton BUG that displays every VST3 preset parameter change on the Push controller.....

Thanks for response. I'm having some additional issues and will try to work with support, but so far they aren't responding.sl1200mk2 wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 3:09 amI believe it's 'AVGR.license' and on my system is located at C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS AvengerMusical Gym wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 1:58 am What is the name of the license file and where is it stored on Windows 10?

Good to see those with CPU issues are finding it improved in 2.0.2.
I'd imagine Rene is doing a lot of firefighting, but just to report 2.0.2 doesn't fix the Spectral problem where changing the root note doesn't do anything.

Thats a minor problem at the moment. Crashes or installation problems have priority.

No doubt it's annoying to be on the receiving end of it, but I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. They are a small business and they obviously don't know you. Regardless of whether you ever even installed it, you theoretically had access to one more serial number than you paid for. They might not necessarily think that you're trying to pull one, but I guarantee you it crossed their mind as a possibility.Jac459 wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:40 pm They corrected but they gave me a bad comment "don't do it again".
As I was already apologizing saying I have been stupid in my initial mail, I found it a bit rude.
Maybe just low EQ....
It's not apples to apples, but a little anecdote - I have a business wherein about 2-3% of my customers in the last two months requested refunds claiming they never got their order despite the tracking showing that it was delivered. I get only a fraction of that many returns or refund requests for every other reason combined. If USPS actually failed to deliver 3% of their packages it would be news. I even had one guy claim he didn't get it despite the tracker showing he picked it up at the post office, which requires you to produce ID. I give people the benefit of the doubt the vast majority of the time, but for a near certainty some of those people are just conning me.
The moral of my little story is doing customer service can make you a bit cynical.

I always read them and enjoy them immensely! You would definitely get appreciation from at least one person if you ever do update the manual.msvs wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:18 pm not yet, we covered all NEW stuff up in YT videos. I keep my hardware and software manuals on my phone and tend to read them for fun when bored. Yeah, I'm a weirdo.

Avenger's manual v1 was the first manual I read completely.
Some could be scared by so many functions, options, features, my experience is you probably don't have to know everything in detail, also depends on what purpose you use Avenger for, composing, sound design etc
The presets + macros + fantastic fx only make it a great synth and when you discover and learn and use more and more features and maybe create your own presets the more you will be fascinated by the synth's power.
And no, Avenger is not just for edm, it also works great for country music!

No thoughts on this? Is no one else besides bmanic using VPS Avenger 2.0 for ambient pads and running into this problem?searlstudio wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:37 pm Is there a way to stop Avenger from voice-stealing while using the sustain pedal (CC64)?
For example, if I have a pad sound and I play the same note repeatedly without cc64, multiple voices of polyphony are used (good).
However, if I play the same note repeatedly while using the sustain pedal, Avenger re-uses the same voice. It's also represented in Avenger's polyphony meter. Repeated playing one note with cc64 engaged uses only one voice. Without cc64 and a long release engages multiple voices.
Is there a way to change that cc64 voice-stealing behavior in Avenger?
Thnx

voice stealing always kills the oldest note, preferable one which is in the release phase, not sustain/held. What would you change with that (correct) behaviour?
did you try raising the voice limit to 64?

It'd be cool if you could select one part in a patch like the lead or bass etc... and choose to create a new patch with only that one part. Then go to town editing it to your liking.SLiC wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:58 pm Avenger really is an instant gratification synths…3 instances a pad, an arp and a lead = full track!
