Also I feel like there's not much to be gained from their approach to synths on the M1. Like, it doesn't lend itself to their "the same but more" approachstoopicus wrote: Mon Oct 09, 2023 12:35 pmKorg M1 is another notable miss in there. However that's probably more about Korg not allowing it than anything else as it's one of their premier plugins.Cepheus wrote: Mon Oct 09, 2023 6:26 am Considering synths....nobody mentioned the Kurzweil K2000 with its VAST synthesis engine. It is from 1991 and a classic synth found on many records.

There already is an M1 plugin.

I’d like to see Arturia release their Polybrute and their take on the Memorymoog.
Alesia Andromeda would be incredible as well.

I don't think there's been anything to the ARP 2600 thing other than people would like it a lot. Maybe it'll happen because they knew people would like it a lot.egbert101 wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 9:39 pm So are we agreed?

Yeah but not an Arturia one. There's also already a Juno, Jupiter, 303, MS-20, Prophet, DX7, ESQ-1/SQ-80, etc etc plugin, but that didn't keep Arturia from making them for V Collection. And I am glad because their versions of some of those are top tier - especially the SQ-80.

The M1 is just a digital sample-based ROMpler. KORG owns those samples. Arturia can't do an M1 emulation with those samples, and making their own samples for it would make it totally not the M1. It's a non-starter.
If you want the KORG M1 as a VST, get the KORG M1 VST. You don't need Arturia to package those samples in a sample playback engine and sell it to you.

I have the Korg M1 VSTi. Mostly I want one where someone other than Korg did the UI.jamcat wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:48 pm The M1 is just a digital sample-based ROMpler. KORG owns those samples. It's the only one that hasn't been updated (with Modular but 2600 is more popular) so it's most likelynoiseboyuk wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 9:59 pm I don't think there's been anything to the ARP 2600 thing other than people would like it a lot.
