Considering synths....nobody mentioned the Kurzweil K2000 with its VAST synthesis engine. It is from 1991 and a classic synth found on many records.

Korg M1 is another notable miss in there. However that's probably more about Korg not allowing it than anything else as it's one of their premier plugins.

Also I feel like there's not much to be gained from their approach to synths on the M1. Like, it doesn't lend itself to their "the same but more" approach

There already is an M1 plugin.

I don't think there's been anything to the ARP 2600 thing other than people would like it a lot. Maybe it'll happen because they knew people would like it a lot.

Yeah but not an Arturia one. There's also already a Juno, Jupiter, 303, MS-20, Prophet, DX7, ESQ-1/SQ-80, etc etc plugin, but that didn't keep Arturia from making them for V Collection. And I am glad because their versions of some of those are top tier - especially the SQ-80.

The M1 is just a digital sample-based ROMpler. KORG owns those samples. Arturia can't do an M1 emulation with those samples, and making their own samples for it would make it totally not the M1. It's a non-starter.

If you want the KORG M1 as a VST, get the KORG M1 VST. You don't need Arturia to package those samples in a sample playback engine and sell it to you.

I have the Korg M1 VSTi. Mostly I want one where someone other than Korg did the UI.
