Presumably more in the Augmented series to follow and updates to the Mini V, Modular V and maybe the Solina. How old is the ARP2600 V?
Arturia V Collection 10. Predictions.

I'll instant buy it nevertheless. Got Minifreak right away, and Acid V is really fun. Kept the purchase till the new V-Collection.
I can only hope they come up with something cool next to the CP-80, which is not really my cup of tea.

I kinda hate the sound of the CP70 (essentially the same tone as the CP80). It was the sound of stage pianos in the 70s and first half of the 80s, and it always sounded hard, cold but the best technology could do at the time. Hearing real piano on U2's October and War records, then hearing the stage version was always that bit disappointing. Then Simple Minds started plastering the damn thing over everything even on record (very prominent in Alive and Kicking) which told the world that their (new) golden era of analog gorgeousness had well and truly passed.
And if for some mad reason I did want to use it, I have it in Keyscape and (uninstalled) in SampleTank Max.
So it's not a very enticing line-up, I must admit. 9 didn't sway me either, especially since I had the new CS80 as a Cubase freebie as I recall. Acid will be kinda fun, the MS20 is the only other thing I'd quite like from the last too. I'm expecting to pass therefore, when one day the upgrade from 8 is sub $100 I'll probably do it.

Agreed. Then again, even if they were two separate collections Arturia would have to divide their resources between developing vintage synth recreations and more "Augmented" instruments. It wouldn't necessarily result in more vintage synths emulations. They'd still be the same number of developers.jamcat wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 8:58 pmBloat. Destroying conceptually what V Collection was meant to be. Diverting a large chunk of your upgrade cost towards plugins you don’t want and no one asked for.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 8:20 pmHow did they wreck something by adding things? It's not like they didn't also add other emulations.
They instead should be in a separate Augmented Collection. That would be fine. In fact, Arturia should remove them from the V Collection and give it to everyone who purchased the last couple V Collections.
The Augmented series have to be successful, otherwise they wouldn't be putting out more of them. It's just that the group of users interested in recreations of vintage synthesizers and those interested in an Augmented Marimba don't necessarily overlap.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I won't be upgrading. I don't care about the Augmented series, I already own Minifreak V, I own Phoscyon 2 and ABL3 so I don't need Acid V, and I would be surprised if their updated Mini V was an improvement on The Legend or Model 72.

I personally like and use the Augmented stuff, but, yeah, they shouldn't have made it part of V collection. They could have made like A-Collection opposed to V-Collection.

My number one want from V-Collection for the past 5-6 years is the ARP/Rhodes Chroma. There's pretty much no good software recreations of it apart from UVI which I found to be rather lackluster. Given that and it's complex modulation abilities IMO it's right up Arturia's alley.
Kurzweil K2000 is a similar beast I'd like to see Arturia tackle. I'd also like to see an expanded Yamaha FM range like the TX816 and GS1/2.
And an updated drum machine would be nice ideally an emulation of one of the classic like the Linns, DMX, Drumlator, etc.

Pigments has had plenty of updates but never found its way in!egbert101 wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:28 pm Minifreak update probably indicates it is going into the V Collection.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

And you think this is tenable why exactly? Logic Pro itself, empty project, uses 350mb. Also your PC means nothing really. What kind of monitor do you have? If you have a 5K monitor like we do and you scale the plugin at 120% you'll be looking at over a gig I bet. Bigger the image on screen more RAM. That's a pretty linear equation. I find their GUIs outrageous. They should introduce a light version of every single UI they have.Examigan wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 12:54 amI don't use a Mac, but on my PC using Cakewalk and Jup-8 takes half a gig in total.nevernamed wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:52 pmHaha exactly. Except I would add that you have been too generous. It is not half a gigabyte of graphics bloat it is well over a gigabyte of graphics bloat. Try loading up their Jupiter 8 on a Mac Studio display at 120%. It is 1.2GB.Vortifex wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 4:21 pm Arturia would take u-he's beautiful interface, stick some blinding white keys on the bottom that can't be hidden, add an enormous pop-out panel on the top, and about half a gigabyte of graphics bloat.

More digitals/hybrids hopefully, the other synths are nice enough but 99% of the time I turn to Arturia it's the Prophet VS/CZ/Emulator. Would love to get a Fizmo in there.
If they do an 808/909 I'd be hard pressed to pay for an upgrade, the D16 ones are just too good to spend more money.

Ah, thank god, the Minifreak V is in it... hopefully more people will be looking to sell their old Minifreak V licenses after upgrading.
