Did they mention Rift for sure? Because Rift is already a standalone plugin, however the distortion FX in Current is called Polar Distortion and it seems to be some kind of lite version from Rift. So what I am still curious about is if they will add Rift or a standalone version from Polar distortion.Trancit wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 12:28 pmThey stated at some point that it is but still need some time to make it available...MADMANJ wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 9:27 am ...
What I am a curious about is why Rift is not in the RTO plan?
I think they need to work on the authorizing side for the plugins still not available...

I had the same problem, where when the current plugin says to close your DAW once the installer starts, closing it always shuts down the installer. However if instead of closing your DAW, you just delete the Current plugin instance on the track and leave Bitwig open, the installer will continue.enCiphered wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 4:17 pmYes, thanks. I did follow every single step of the installation process, did exaclty what you wrote but nope. I haven´t test it on my Mac but in Windows it doesn´t work.billinder33 wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:43 pmI did this in Bitwig yesterday (Mac). It was confusing at first but I realized you have to follow the bouncing ball until Current pops up the OS's install window and then you can close the DAW before you click through the installer.enCiphered wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:17 pm Downloading the update while current is open is possible but still not the installation. They have now added further steps to close your DAW automatically but this doesn´t work (Bitwig in my case). I have tried multiple times with no success.
If I close Bitwig manually, the current installation window also closes. So, neither the automatic shutdown of the DAW nor the manual shutdown works. They just can't get it right, you can only download and install the update from the website. Update and installation within current is still not possible.
I can update any other plugin I have while Bitwig is open.
The instructions need to be a little clearer, but it does work (on Mac at least). Bitwig's really good about installing plugins while the DAW is running, so you can probably get away with leaving it up, but not all DAWs are, thus the instruction to close.

Yes, I am quite sure they were talking about Rift... but no 100% guarantee of course...MADMANJ wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 5:04 pmDid they mention Rift for sure? As far as I remember they spoke about that the RTO plan contains all of their products for the time being active... so Rift as well...
But on the web site they speak about all of Currents effects as they are available...
So will they release a seperate Polar Distortion for not giving away Rift included in the Plan??
No idea, but I hope they will leave it at Rift instead of breaking it down...

Totally off topic, but I recently used Rift on a fairly clean sine-wave bass for the first time and wow did it make that track pop. The standing Minimal FX are slowly becoming my go-to plugins for their respective functions ove Bitwig's stock and various other third party options. Especially the filter.... That one is great.

Same for me, I do not have Rift then but I am eager to buy it if it will not be included in the RTO, this because the other FX are really outstanding, the delay is one of the best I used and I even prefer to use the Fuse compressor over the Fabfilter PRO-MB.billinder33 wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 6:48 pm Totally off topic, but I recently used Rift on a fairly clean sine-wave bass for the first time and wow did it make that track pop. TBH, I just purchased the yearly All Access mainly to purchase the individual plugins I still not own... Rift, Fuse Comp and Swarm Verb...
Especially I was keen on Fuse Comp... I love OTT... so I love Fuse Comp...
I think I will never completely convert to Current (but who knows) ... nonetheless having access to it is nice while waiting for the years to pass by until the payback (including the 60,-€ present) will be enough for all I want...
So best of both worlds for me and enough time to wait and see what happens to Current over the time and if I will be more happy with it in future...

I signed up when current was first released and cancelled due to the ongoing situation etc, and waited to trial properly via the new RTO plan. When I try to trial now, the cart says I have already trialed and won't let me. Anyone had a similar situation and found a solution bar creating a new account?

I would ask the support if they can reset your trial period...m-ac wrote: Mon Dec 25, 2023 8:36 pm I signed up when current was first released and cancelled due to the ongoing situation etc, and waited to trial properly via the new RTO plan. I found them very generous and helpful... there is actually nothing they do not listen to, so if you explain your situation, chances are high that they let you demo it again...

They may not get back to you until after New Year though. I got an email saying they're taking a break.

Current contains a Rift lite because Rift includes effects and features that are already covered by other parts of Current.MADMANJ wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 5:04 pmDid they mention Rift for sure? Beware of the CPU usage ! I say avoid using the jackhammer if all you need is a hammer for a simple nail.billinder33 wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 6:48 pm Totally off topic, but I recently used Rift on a fairly clean sine-wave bass for the first time and wow did it make that track pop.
