I am regularly looking for good relaxing music to focus on while I am not working on music myself but rather messing with graphics, video, website and other stuff. I would be happy to get recommendations for albums or artists that meet the following criteria:

- no vocals
- no drums or beats (except for subtle percussion)
- nothing repetitive or looped, nothing Aphex Twin related
- can be positive but I enjoy sentimental to darker moods more..
- drone music is welcome but not static, playing one note for 5 hours..

Thank you!

Are you familiar with Bjorn Lynne? He has a broad range of stuff but I think some of his material might fit your criteria.

Thanks Dave!
I listened to some tracks from this artists at spotify but didn´t like it. What I am looking for has to be way more.. subtle, atmospheric stuff like State Azure.

The closest thing I got is Com Truise, its instrumental, no vocals, but it does have drums. You can preview them on Youtube.

Yes, I'm constantly listening to his music. I was hoping to find other artists who have a similar discography

The only music I ever listen to anymore is Jungle. It keeps me in a heightened state of focus and productivity, whereas other genres, especially without drum tracks/percussion, induce sleepiness. In this case, the music we consume has different functions.

people are different about achieving focus
while playing scrabble...
i like total quiet
i pause netflix
i don't multitask
i just play
especially if the opponent is fast

if the opponent is slow, then yes, multitasking is a must
do something else

to "pump me up", as arnold swartzenegger used to say...
i play songs like this "before", but not during scrabble games
