I recommend no longer responding to the provocations of papillons. I won't be. It is not my intention to make problems with anyone, despite what he says.

Death by a thousand cuts has this thread become. Saw it all before, First William then the Admiral. Or was it William first?

You’re right, I’ve edited that part. I overreacted here, sorry. Thanks for pointing it.Vortifex wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 6:04 pmHmm, I disagree with that. OB-Xd, Discovery and Corona are quite good IMO (no experience with the others). I wish he'd overhaul the preset system to something like u-he or Arturia but apart from that I have no real complaints.DJErmac wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 5:40 pm The best thing to do is stop right here with those guys. The plugins are simply not worth it, they are usable at best.

Discovery Pro, Corona, and Bliss were on my preliminary shopping list for BF (or let's say early wish list for xmas). I've tested them thoroughly before, Bliss for example again and again through the years.
They didn't make it in the end because like many of us, I already bought way too many synths and had to reduce the list somehow (controlling G.A.S.).
That said: I dig the products. But what I've learned here keeps me away from them even further.

I only buy if its something I desperatly want (GAS) or its a good deal and I can make use of. Disco is on the latter end of the spectrum for me and I have a few of their products. All the drama and bad business decisions are more of an source of amusement and learning for me. Not everyone is good at business and customer relations - you can only get so far without these being an inherent trait. I've experienced a number of folks like this, running an onling business and active in the forums, and they all have some similarities. In a better world of humanity we would help these people through their challenges. But, we are just not there yet... something to consider.

I am baffled, dismayed, and saddened by the edits in this thread. Someone is protecting DiscoDSP.
Many of you here know me. You know how I post and respond to posts. You can look back through my history. Every post (since, as Doggo puts it fantastically, "history is knowledge"). I am not polar, political, or provoking. I called out DiscoDSP for their attack on somebody's music, and that post got deleted along with the post that would cause me to speak up.
Just such a sad state, because users deserve to know what they are dealing with.

Agreed. ....and while we need to give the admins more time to respond, the silence is indeed deafening right now.

FWIW, I dont necessarily think so. When posts are pulled because of, erm, misbehaviour, its not exactly uncommon for the responses to those posts to get pulled too.JonSolo wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 7:53 pm I am baffled, dismayed, and saddened by the edits in this thread. Depends on the context, of course. In this case, they wanted us to pay a ridiculous amount of money for what were changes to a previous version that were simply impossible to perceive audibly, if they even did exist. What part of that merited our help, let alone our money?plexuss wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 7:48 pm In a better world of humanity we would help these people through their challenges. Check his insults he's been using. They sound remarkably similar to the ones in this thread from George...... Hmmmm.....SLiC wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 6:00 pm Plot twist? George/papillon same person? The only 2 people posting everyone else was wrong and strange they are both deleted.

I am defending DiscoDSP because they make wonderful synths, and you do nothing, and you complain. Get a life.
