Pretty basic, butI like it simple
Thank you for the Delay, great approach!
I think the tone of the original post about ping pong in Sigmund ("Uninstalled') was unfortunate. Had it been milder then we could've had a rational convo on the merits. Also unfortunate is mention of, and exhortations to buy, other plugins -- that's a red herring and doesn't imply anything nice. I have Repeater and a few other delays that do ping pong and I know Sigmund can do it also. The question is whether it'd be better if it did it at the touch of a button and while I don't care a ton, it seems totally doable to me and consistent with the product concept so why the heck not? The dancing around that question is what I object to.elassi wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 4:14 pm
And then there is Fabfilter's Timeless 3, which excels in modulation options, filter design and ... erm ... two sorts of the holy Ping Pong.
Best advice for delay nerds: get them all.![]()
I'm actually helping with that: "Sigmund 3: now with ping pong button -- instabuy!"elassi wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 5:38 pm At KvR we don't discuss purchasing itself.
We discuss why not purchase though we don't need to.
It's a support group. Too Many Plugins Anonymous.
All joking aside, make no mistake though: Sigmund is one of the handful or so delay-plugins that have a dedicated pre-delay per delay channel (i.e. eight in total for Sigmund (4x2))cptgone wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 6:27 pm Any plugin called Sigmund should focus on Freudian stuff, so no need for pre-delay (which would be more suited to a plugin called Jacques
Trash and Sigmund are the two before me as well and I'm much more inclined to go with Sigmund. Trash to me seems like it's lost lots of features and the UI isn't super awesome looking either. In terms of a solid developer too I just feel so much more inclined to d16 as they've recently updated the drum synths and phoscyon and really brought something new to the table and addressed issues. Whereas Izotope is now one of the NI properties owned by some SF private equity company and the whole rollout seems botched. I just don't get good vibes, no offense to folks who worked on it.hurricaneaudiolab wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 7:52 pm I upgraded first day. Sigmund is one of those plugins that can add subtle space around a sound while not losing the definition of the original sound. Bypass it and you're like, WTF! I also really dig the 80s hi-fi stereo look.
Now, thoughts in my head - should I upgrade to Trash....? Doesn't seem like a no-brainer like Sigmund 2.
Yes, and I needed it for that Keeley preset. It was the only way I could layer 2 sets of hard panned delays AND add chorus to them.jens wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 8:03 pm Sigmund is one of the handful or so delay-plugins that have a dedicated pre-delay per delay channel (i.e. eight in total for Sigmund (4x2))
