I'm waiting for a response to my bug report on the count in click bug so we'll how that goes.....

Yes, the count-in thing needs to be fixed. I am guessing it's not as trivial to fix as it might seem but I'm hopeful. The devs definitely DO know about it. TBH I never even saw the bug because I never record from Bar 1 and (I think I mentioned already) doesn't happen if recording a way up the timeline (IIRC from beyond Bar 3.) I can understand it's very annoying if you use higher bpm and record from Bar 1 though.

Honestly I have a double feeling about version 12 as well as 12.5. I sent a request (56017) on July 9, 2023, but unfortunately never got a response. I really like the workflow, I can get used to the fact that there is no normal drag n drop. I can work out if some plugin is not working properly (usually replace it). But it's hard to put up with rendering problems. Please make it so that in version 13 I could get a normal stable renderer. Despite all the problems I believe in you guys, I'm waiting for the new version and wish you good luck. I hope it will be a version that I can safely recommend to everyone I know.

I agree. What specific rendering problems do you have, out of curiosity? Have you tried the latest beta?

Having to insert empty bars is definitely a kludgy workaround. I'm thinking that since count in click works at slower speeds or after a few empty bars it would be a relatively simple fix but since you say they already know about it and the issue is not fixed in this beta that gives me concern.

I have grown to love Waveform but I'm not that invested in it time wise so if such an issue can't be fixed then I'll have to move on. None of the other 6 DAWs I own have this issue but of course they all have their own weaknesses and quirks.

I hope to hear back from my support ticket some time this week.

No. I thought that beta versions are usually less stable than release versions. But I'll definitely give it a try.
