I just dropped the start of a project I call Deployment Series Homage Line, which is me redoing many of the old SynthEdit projects and bringing them to VST3 and 4K active resampling.
It’s just a 2 operator FM Synth for now.
The DSP end is free, to use the GUI, a click back to my web site is required.

Not the most inviting of openings, but intriguing enough for me to explore.
And while I am not offering to think up a new name, 'Deployment Series Homage Line' is a bit of a mouthful.

Nine or ten clicks before you actually get to download the .exe file, hopefully you can refine that.
Nevertheless, I like the (discontinued) Drum Module, though I've yet to try the Sweet Spots effect.
Thanks Justin.

oh bugger

Post

Hi bob,

Thanks for the feedback.

This specific product is Homage Line, I'll rip out the prefix going forward and just include a mention that it's part of the Deployment Line.

I'll change the product link to land right at the description page.

The "oh bugger" I imagine is becuase you opened it up! 😆
It's a "freemium" type product, the DSP (processing) end is competely unrestricted.

Doing the "808 drum" today, however, I might switch the names between the "Drum Module", becuase the "808" has too much sweep sound. Mostly the same between the two, just the bass drum is different; not sure about the snare.

These are very "primitive" systems as I'm doing my best to keep them as original as possible. Once the line is complete, I do want to make them a bit more functonal. Like ms ADSR read outs instead of volts, and multiple sends for the drums.

The idea is to have sort of a SynthEdit "stock" plug-in line.

Thanks again.

Apologies, the 'oh bugger' comment resulted from an attempt to edit my first comment but ended up quoting the stuff I was trying to edit. Then I lost my internet signal and never got back online until a short while ago, after moving my boat to a slightly different location.

Synthedit classic/basic look but in vst3 wasn't something I'd ever imagined. Looking forward to checking in more depth.

It's also ultra high definition UHD/4K, the rasters actively "resample" depending on windows scaling factor.
I got the original assets from the SynthEdit developer and rerendered them in Povray at 1x2x4 resolution.

I just read you got the assets from the developer, but for the FM synth it is spelled Oscillator. :)

:hihi:
I totally remember spell checking that! I must have built over it during a revision!

So many small things I had to consider for such a simple synth! Just building the installer was a task in itself, then pressing, and now consumer feedback. Developers in big companies are so lucky to have dedicated departments and just focus on the product!

Thanks for catching that one!

Full disclosure, some of the assets were missing. I had to do the background myself in Blender 3D. I didn't know what it was so I asked the developer, and he said the intended idea was that rough plastic from the back of a Pro-One.

Looks great with the 4K compatible skin and this is only 125% using 1920x1080.

Another update, this one comes with keyboard programmability for read outs which was greatly needed. I've also ported contextual based read outs, sensitivity control and amount snapping from Sweet Spots to really bring some sophistication to these legacy tools. Took awhile to back port.

Some "new" plug-ins being Poly Synth 1 and 2. I wondered why the prefab was called 2 and had to trace back to SynthEdit (SE) 0.9462 to find version 1, which only had 1 LFO, a modulation source/destination routing, oscillator sync, PWM control for both oscillators, and keyboard tracking control being the main differences. Poly Synth 1 also had many presets.

I made an full update list here:
