I'm also wondering. We shall buy both I guess.

Was thinking about the same thing. Fingers crossed for a revamped Compressor and Barricade.

I can not remember when was the last time some release actually excited me as Equalizer Pro. I mean EQ4 was and is used a ton here and I was like there's no way this could be improved in the sense that a measurable drastic improvement can be made (for my view)and then Equalizer Pro came.

I just love the new interface design. So classy. My wet hope is that slowly and gradually all other plugins receive updates and upgrades.

I know this is a heated debate but I don't see a problem in paying and supporting these plugins. I always loved his work - no secret about that. I am aware I don't speak for everyone in this.

Me neither - but: that's for me no valid reason at all not to include all main features of an earlier, very related plugin (from which there's even an "upgrade"-path (mind you: it's not called "crossgrade").

Yeah I hear you. If you remember correctly the sound of older (initially very old) Reelbus never made it into v3 for example.

And then V4 has a different sound. By now I think he shapes his new products differently than anyone else and most of the time old features do not make it into a new updated version.

I know it's unusual but at least you can still work with older products with that same sound. Who knows maybe it's a framework that causes this. I mean I see that his plugins are often on multiple platforms etc. etc. Also, it can be that you receive updates in the future and then some older features arrive in (of course just speculation).

I guess my point is with Jeroen and Toneboosters I learned he

1. is not about dethroning current leading products
2. does not follow corporate trends
3. he just makes his own stuff to the best of his abilities

I appreciate that and turns out I like this attitude.

can‘t find the gain compensation function on this(?)

Bottom right - similar to Fabfilter.

Unless you mean autogain - I don’t think it has that.

Lets keep in Mind that we are still talking about one of the very best here. A one man band delivering Quality at humble prices for decades now. Similar to Voxengo, Fuse Audio and Tokyo Dawn (who are actually a Trio), we should also appreciate those. :phones:

Not to mention he's super audio scientist guy and all. :tu:

Thats why I mentioned the others, as all of them are playing in their very own League.

When you click on the output volume in the bottom right-hand corner a window pops up. There you can press "Out Match" and it evens out the gain. It's not fully automatic though.

Personally, I still use LetiMix GainMatch in Auto mode afterwards and adjust the (any) plug-in's output until the gain difference in GainMatch is zero.

Ahh, I see. Still, this is more like a workaround that isn't very fast/practical. EQ4 automatic gain per band already, so it's a bit strange to not see this inside the pro version already.

Bus Compressor V3 is no slouch, I'd take an upgrade :hihi:

Meh, I broke down and upgraded, since I kept using the thing trying to decide if I wanted to upgrade

how to enable external sidechain in a band for level detection?
this feels like a step down from EQ4 in my opinion.
