I am a bit less technical, but I wanted to say. As someone who never bought Pro-Q 3 because it is very expensive, this is great. I liked the trial version a lot and hopefully I will buy this in the future.

Pretty simple, just make sure to select the type of filter you want and its sidechain option. See pic for a bell curve externally sidechained.

Does anybody else find annoying that mouse-wheel (Q) behaviour changes to opposite direction when using alt/ctrl? I use those a lot, because those modifiers lock gain/frequency so you only adjust one of them, that weird behaviour make that function pretty unusable to me.

Hmm it’s working fine for me in Pro Tools. Are you making sure to adjust the range knob after? If you don’t, nothing will happen despite the level going above the threshold.sqigls wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 3:44 amthat does nothingMattLeschuck wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:42 pmPretty simple, just make sure to select the type of filter you want and its sidechain option. got the vst3 working. the vst2 sidechain is broken.
anyway, after some in depth tweaking, EQ v4 still works better for tight ducking.
not perfect, but overall i much prefer v4

From the manual, my emphasis:
Some plugins support multi-channel audio input, possibly including 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos channel-based
formats. Plugins may also provide support for an external side chain input. In general, the following restrictions
apply for the various plugin formats:
• VST: only mono or stereo input; no external side chain input
• VST3: can typically run up to 16 channels, and can have external side chain inputs
• AAX: can typically run up to 16 channels, and can have external side chain inputs
• Audio Unit: can typically run up to 16 channels, and can have external side chain inputs
• iOS app including IAA support: only mono or stereo input; no external side chain input
• iOS AUv3: mono or stereo input, with external side chain support.

After 10 years away I am finally getting back to making music. Back in the day I used to rely on Voxengo's HarmoniEQ and GlissEQ for equalizer duties. Still in the process of setting up my environment so unable to audition this reliably myself (though I will as soon as I get there). Have eq's significantly improved in the past 10 years? How does this compare to my old Voxengo favorites? So many new developers now, I feel quite out of touch!

So I updated and can't believe how a seemingly perfect EQ just got ruined by stupid features. I certainly didn't see this one coming from an established and experienced dev as Jeroen is.
Before you all throw a rock at me let me tell you I am not against upgrades or features as long as they are optional or that I can turn them on or off.
It has happened to me now several times that I wanted to grab an existing point or points by ledft click and drag (a bell if you will) and it creates another bell instead. The behavior of EQ and the workflow changed.
Congratulations on making this product poo. I can not believe how a developer (which I like a lot) infuses one strategy of working, releasing a product, people buy into it, then just a week later, a release after that he changes the workflow without giving the option to return to the initial.
Now I need to watch out super closely and pinpoint the pixel crosshair where my focus is in order not to create another point. That "crosshair" snap is too sensitive. Is there a way to not do it this way am I missing some configuration window or does this thing go right in the trash before I even started working with it seriously?
Don't bs me this is not a good workflow. Here is my exact issue. Say you added a gentle boost with a peaking filter on the Master bus. At say 2713hz. 1.5db. Now you add some Low boost with another point. Now, return to this peaking bell at 2713.
Now try to select that bell. Here is what is happening here. Even if I pinpoint the crosshair next to the bell in order to make a left-click selection (I know I can click on it that is not the point because sometimes I need to grab more points) and EVEN IF I TAKE SPECIAL CARE of not having the crosshair snapping to a line offering me to add a "new" point by moving the crosshair above the circle a bit (needless to say this adds significant constraint on staring and glazing at the screen) it still creates a f**king new peaking filter ?!?!?!!!!!!

What is happening with Jeroen? Has no one told him that if he intends to make drastic changes on each release without the possibility of allowing people to work with his product in the way he initially offered them - people are going to be pissed?
If he intends to throw in every darn idiotic feature someone requests of him this won't work eventually it will become a circus product.

You can select multiple points by dragging out a box selection. I guess that's not what you want?

That's what I want. It is impossible unless I go way out of bounds. Look at the animation above and think about it. Here I made another one with multiple points. I can not select them, it makes another bell instead even after the fact I ensured crosshair should not add another point (whenever you want to add another filter a small white dot appears on a horizontal line, if there is no dot no filter should be added - white dot you'll see it it when I move mouse left or right above bands).
This was not the case in the previous version. I could select peaking filters easily. Now instead of left-click and dragging to select it adds yet another band unless you go further away. Well, how much further and why do I need to think about it when this was not the case in the previous version at all? That is my issue with it.
If he could add "Disable one-click adding filter" I guess one would be able to return to the initial workflow.,
