Yes, SM3 can read loop points, loop mode, cue points from wav/aif files.

I am going to look into the missing waveform/sample issues. Regarding downloading all of the expansions, you actually downloaded and installed all expansions. The missing ones were nks files for some of the expansions. I am going to exclude nks from the total count.
The preset works now. Thanks for the quick fix!
I enjoy checking out SM3 a lot. It's a very cool update! Keep up the good work.

Would you be able to send me the WAV file so I can test this?

Yes looks like it might crash after downloading preset banks is completed, if the UI is open. I just fixed this one, will be in 3.0.4 update

I have the everything bundle.

1) The scale 'fill octave' feature is not present in SM v3.03 and lower.
Will this feature ever be introduced into SM3?
As a non-keyboard player, I found it very useful to be able to do that in the synth so easily, rather than try to set-up 'limiting the notes to a scale' at controller or DAW level.

2) In the preset Browser, with the filters set to 'all', when I select 'Synthmaster One' as an attribute, I can see 2038 presets, so I'm assuming this was the thing mentioned in the latest update email. By the wording of the email I expected to have to download an expansion?

3) Could it be possible to ctrl-click preset attributes to multi-select a few at a time? So for instance we could list presets tagged with both 'Lead' and 'Metallic'. Or select '2.5, 2.7, 2.8 and 2.9' to list all SM2 presets at once.

4) Mouse wheel doesn't scroll the preset lists?

Thanks.

When using special characters (&) in Preset Info text, SM3 standalone crashes out and the VST2/VST3 graphics go nuts and eventually crashes out in the host.

Reported in the KV331 forum a couple of versions ago and still present in this release.

Yes, SM3 can read loop points, loop mode, cue points from wav/aif files.
Curious, as I've thrown a couple at it and none have been read, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. Is it automatically being read? Do I have to manually turn it on?

I'll try again but I'm pretty certain there is an issue on my end. I'll upload some wave files if I find that's the case and proof there are indeed loop points. If anyone else can confirm the loop points are being read, please share, possibly uploading 1 file to test.

audiojunkie wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:30 pm BTW, does anyone know if SynthMaster supports DFD (Direct From Disk) for samples? I'm thinking, in particular about large SFZ files-- 2+GB in size.....
I haven't fully tested direct from disk feature yet, although I implemented it for wav/aif files. I might add a separate Sample oscillator type which enabled direct from disk streaming.
That would be great! I tend to try and use the best instruments I have when making music, choosing quality of the sound over the size of the file.

By the way, how does Synthmaster 3 SFZ usage work? Do you simply parse directly from the SFZ script, or do you import to an internal format?

I just noticed if I save a preset as the default patch, it works, but at the top it shows "New Preset" instead of the BT preset name: "BT 90s Pad".

Then If I click the arrow to go to the next preset, it keeps "New Preset" there as the name, even though the preset has actually changed.

The last time I tried deleting SM3 from the project I had open in Cakewalk and reloading it (VST2 for all this) and then when I tried to load it again, now I have a crash notice on my screen.

Hi - if I understand correctly the patches for Synthmaster 2 and Synthmaster One are now available as expansion packs that can be installed in Synthmaster 3 without having to install SM2 and SMOne. If this is correct, where are these expansion files located and how do you install them?

It's the same as with all other expansion packs:
Rightclick on the central preset name display at the top -> "Restore my preset banks".
This then starts to download and install all missing presets.

Yes, that is correct :tu:

All you have to do is:

Click on the preset name on the top header, then click on "restore my preset banks" menu:

Looping is not enabled by default. You need to go to the editor page and enable looping, then loop type.
