So testing offline usage, Splice is definitely internet based,as it wont even allow me to access the samples I downloaded into the session ! So no works getting done like this, anyone know how we can access the samples when your offline ?

Being that 99.9% of people on KVR are making ambient electronic soundscapes, I think the idea of being a vocalist is lost on most, as is writing a song with a definitive beginning, middle, and end.

It brought me back to Studio One, so yeah its working. Time to make some beats, hahaha. 8)

I write and record my own music. That's the point of being a musician.

Out of everything new in Studio One 7, I find it the most offensive of all.

There isn't much distinction these days between people who are musicians and people who want to make music.

No one does a clip launcher better than Ableton period. A clip launcher in S17 is corny. Its a fad that other DAW's ripped off of Ableton.

I care because it's the one thing you can't hide in Studio One. So those corners will always be there, forever mocking us; a bitter reminder of our betrayal.[/quote]
Actually, it's easy to hide the arrangement window, just maximise the mixer or edit window. But who are wanting to hide it from?
Yes, that's right. Or at least it was. Studio One was always the DAW for scoring dignified music, not cheap thrills. A different caliber of musician used Studio One: Refined gentlemen of exquisite taste. Now, our once great bastion lays in ruins, as it is sacked by the uncivilised hordes of beatmakers.
Yeah, nah. I see two types of Studio One users - Gregor Bayerle users and Joe Gilder users, depending on whose videos you find more valuable. I'm definitely a Joe Gilder user.

Abso-fuckin'-lutely! In fact, the idea of writing an actual song is lost on the vast majority of them, which is why I think that, sadly, v7 is going to make PreSonus a lot of money.

Bitwig and S1 has better clip launchers because it is side by side with arrangement view, which Ableton can't do, period.

My computer does not meet the v.7 system requirements atm, but will in the fuuuuture.
Does presonus let you download previous versions of Studio One, that you did not buy?

Upgraded yesterday and played around a little bit. As someone who never used a looper/launcher before, I can say it's a lot of fun. Their ATOM controller works well with it too.

Transpose was something I used a lot while beatmaking, using a plugin in master fx, now it's built-in.

DAW looks more modern now, I think that is thanks to rounded corners and the new event design. However, bright colors are eye-bleach as of now, could find a way to make them more dimmed.

Splice integration is BIG for me, works very well, drag and drop automatically downloads the sample and the AI feature also works great (that gives recommended loops to you according to your reference) can find the pocket in the beat and also detect the key as well.

Stem separation works well too, I don't know if it's better than RX11's stem separation but it feels faster than RX.

That’s just personal preference, I have had Bitwig since V1, never used it side by side…that may as I came from Live, but I just see clip and arrange as to separate things.

the two Cubase ones are pretty good as starting point, in the exchange, I've picked the blue one

Sorry, I meant the bright colors for events/tracks. Not the UI itself. UI looks great in dark grey.

Post

Just click on the coloured tab for the event/track (right-click on events first) and then select a new colour. You can create your own palette.

Ok, I've had to edit this post. I was complaining that there was a bug introduce in 6.6.3 (which broke the soundcloud upload) and I was worried that I'd have to spend $149 upgrading to 7 to get it fixed.

But support have just come back and said there's going to be another update to v6 to fix this bug.

Phew
