Maybe it's time for me to finally dig into your API tutorial videos and the Launchkey mk3 source code, see what I can manage to cobble together XD

There is no last touched state in Bitwig.kazakore wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:02 am I posted this in the Bitwig Discord to confirm there is no native way of doing it, I don't know if the controller API actually supports this (assigning destinations to Remote Control panel slots on the fly) but if it does I think this would be an awesome addition to your scripts.
What is like to see is a Last Touched Remote Control panel. So all eight knobs are filled up with the last eight parameters of the device which you touched with the mouse (clicked on but not necessarily moved.)
This would be awesome for two reasons.
1. Making it so much easier to make your own Remote Control panels (assuming you can save/export and rename from the Last Touched one.)
2. Make sound design so much easier on devices that don't have any preset Remote Control panels set up. Especially when using a controller with displays such as the Ableton Push range. I would love to not be reaching for the mouse so much, generally going back and forth over a few controls at a time.
As BitWig does give you parameter name and value to the API to send to the controller, otherwise changing values with the mouse wouldn't be reflected on the hardware, then they're doesn't need to be a native Last Touched value to use to do it via a controller script as long as you have ability to create arrays, and the ability to set Remote Control assignments. Although I don't know how cumbersome or efficient it would be to code yourself....moss wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 9:15 amThere is no last touched state in Bitwig.kazakore wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:02 am I posted this in the Bitwig Discord to confirm there is no native way of doing it, I don't know if the controller API actually supports this (assigning destinations to Remote Control panel slots on the fly) but if it does I think this would be an awesome addition to your scripts.

Can you send me the error from the crash?xtreme sounds wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2024 2:55 pm HI for the latest script the launchcontrol xl is unresponsive when first plugging it in. I have to press User then Factory again to get it going. This may explain sometimes why the XL will also suddenly get an error and crash.
You can do anything that is possible via Java except that it runs headless which means you have no access to any kind of user interface APIs which sadly also contains the key control. That means you need to find either a Java library or integrate a C/C++ library (platform independent!) which can do that.finnlander wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2024 11:17 am Is it possible to modify DrivenbyMoss layout and implement extra button , that would trigger OS level commands e.g. launch Powerpoint? How?

I remember there was (is?) a bug in Bitwig that caused this. I am afraid I cannot fix this.xtreme sounds wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 11:39 am hi on the akai fire why is the drum edit notes chance of note not working? I am in user1 mode and note edits are on I selecta step and its yellow then I press Alt plus the filter knob and see the parameter RngDe. I cannot see any note chance any more on the drum step sequencer. I tried Channel mixer user 1 and user 2 nothing. I had to load up a new drum machine and it works but for some reason the current drum machine isnt responding. There is a bug in here somewhere. Clicking the track over and over doesnt fix it either. Selecting the device nothing. Im using the Breaks from Tony Kit. ONce I added a new instance of Drum machine then both tracks started showing chance. wierd bug for sure. IN fact Im able to repeat it easily once you have chance showing up. change the channel to mixer or user 1 then it breaks again. and wont come back. You have to turn edit mode off then on again.
Yes, that's correct. When note edit mode is active, the first press on the MODE button exits note edit mode.xtreme sounds wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 11:39 am As a side point I did notice that when a sequence is playing and its on channel mode by default I sometimes have to press the button 2x to get it to switch to mixer mode. Just another strange thing.
Never heard of such an issue. Can you send me one of these projects?JimDiGritz wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 9:15 pm Hi,
I'm using DrivenByMoss 24.5.1 on Bitwig 5.2.5 with a Novation Launchpad X.
It works perfectly almost all the time however sometimes the 8x8 pads go dark and MIDI note input is not recognised.
**to be clear this is on any active, armed Instrument track with a MIDI capable device (eg Polymer, Vital or Kontakt) - The orange Pitch Up & Change Scale at the top still work - it's just the 8x8 which is now off..**
Restarting BW and/or the Launchpad X doesn't fix it however opening a different project does. This then is a permanent issue with that Project file in Bitwig.
I now have several, in progress Bitwig projects, which I can't use the Launchpad (with DrivenbyMoss). I can switch the controller back to the 'native' driver in the Bitwig Settings and it works as it should out of the box, however if I try to re-enable DrivenByMoss it shows the unlit 8x8 again...
Any help apppreciated!
Not completely sure what you mean. Send program changes or MIDI CC? There are Bitwig devices for that.Attuned wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:53 pm Firstly, just want to say thank you for a fantastic tool that makes life so much better!
I'm using Push 2 and I'm wondering if there is a way to get access to all of the parameters of the HW Instrument in the same way that you can access these in Live via the Push? There you can choose the MIDI instrument as well as the channel, and also the return channels.
I've tried mapping these myself using the Remote Controls Editor, but they don't appear as options.
It's not a massive issue to set them via the mouse though.
