I see a developer is advertising their black friday sales starting now in October. That is something else.

I was in a hardware store a week ago and they had a mixture of Halloween decorations and Christmas trees. Seems rather desperate to make sales starting so early.

I saw someone adverting Christmas on TV earlier. I must be living in the past.

I've seen that from Plugin Boutique, too. They call it "Black Friday Early Access".

Gamma-UT wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 7:40 am This might be different on Windows but on the MacOS version, the app isn't quite smart enough to delay installation attempts when you've got several queued up. But it has downloaded the installer that you can either retry from the app or install manually from the temp download folder it uses.

I don't think I've had a situation where it won't install at all if the installation paths are kosher.
So far the only add-on library that I tried but failed to install, in fact failed to download, is SampleTron. I even installed the big 200 GB max library (not sure I will use it but I will poke around). I am not installing the Miroslav Orchestra stuff, most of the drum libraries, the saxophone (bleah), or the weird keys library that has the accordion in it.
Sampletron 2 does not download from their installer. IK Multimedia does not provide any deedback on the corresponding support tickets. You can have some evidence of this in their forum (not much, since they are blocking the threads related) and also in vi-control.com, "Ended - SampleTank 4 Max v2 for $27 (ends 23rd Oct at 18:00 GMT)"

I don’t get this TBH. Maybe I am just lucky. I bought Syntronik V2 Max on some silly discount from APD or VST Buzz a long time ago and installed it with no problem. I caved on the humble bundle deal. I opened the IK product manager and logged in. It updated and then I registered the bundle. Everything showed up. So far I have just installed Erik Norlander’s Mojo Synthesis libraries, and that went without a a hitch. I opened SampleTank and there they were, no problem. I just had to wait a bit for it to rebuild the database. I had set the library location to my second SSD already (a 4TB one I installed in my Laptop myself).
I would buy a lottery ticket immediately, you apparently are blessed with some sort of good luck that you had no issues with IK installs. I have not had the type of fortune you are experiencing with the installs and based on shit loads of forum posts neither are most people. The gods are smiling on you.
Guess what? SampleTron failed to install. I thought I might check it out to compare against GForce’s MTron Pro IV, which I own already along with some of the add-on “tapes.”

😵‍💫
There are many in the same situation. Struggling to install their software, then succeeding with ALL products in the package... but 2. Sampletron 2 and "The code 2".

This is a cycle with the sales. A few years ago they started as early as September. It started from November going earlier by 1/2 weeks every year, they ended up with sales in September some even last days of August. Then they stopped this madness and they went back to the original BF date. Since last year we started getting them a bit earlier again.

Yeah, pretty soon they’ll be advertising Christmas 2025 sales in November 2024. Don’t wait, this sale will only last for 13 months!!!
