Sindikhate wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 10:23 am Installing the IK Max V2 is a pain in the blackhole so far! I dread doing the whole 600Gb like this. -_-
I don’t get this TBH. Maybe I am just lucky. I bought Syntronik V2 Max on some silly discount from APD or VST Buzz a long time ago and installed it with no problem. I caved on the humble bundle deal. I opened the IK product manager and logged in. It updated and then I registered the bundle. Everything showed up. So far I have just installed Erik Norlander’s Mojo Synthesis libraries, and that went without a a hitch. I opened SampleTank and there they were, no problem. I just had to wait a bit for it to rebuild the database. I had set the library location to my second SSD already (a 4TB one I installed in my Laptop myself).
I would buy a lottery ticket immediately, you apparently are blessed with some sort of good luck that you had no issues with IK installs. I have not had the type of fortune you are experiencing with the installs and based on shit loads of forum posts neither are most people. The gods are smiling on you.
Guess what? SampleTron failed to install. I thought I might check it out to compare against GForce’s MTron Pro IV, which I own already along with some of the add-on “tapes.”

😵‍💫
There are many in the same situation. Struggling to install their software, then succeeding with ALL products in the package... but 2. Sampletron 2 and "The code 2".

Sampletron 2 does not download from their installer. IK Multimedia does not provide any deedback on the corresponding support tickets. You can find information about it in vi-control.com, "Ended - SampleTank 4 Max v2 for $27 (ends 23rd Oct at 18:00 GMT)"
This should be fixed. If you still have problems please reach out and the team should be able to suss it out pretty quickly for you at this point. If you already have a ticket, a reply will bump it to let them know you still have a problem and/or let me know your ticket number.

Yes, I still have problems because 8 days after I logged my ticket nobody in IK-Multimedia updated the list of products in my user zone OR the available products I can download using Product Manager OR sent manual download links OR just sent a polite response just saying "Sorry, we are very busy, we are striving to fix the issues related to this bundle but we don't have the resources to deliver".

Anyway I did as you suggested and I sent a reply mail to my ticket kindly reminding IK-Multimedia that the company could possibly respond with a fix or (if not possible) with a plan to fix.

I don't like these pre-sales sales either. Cherry Audio's Mercury-6 is 20% off for another 2 days. But who knows if that means it won't be on sale again in just a few weeks during the 'real' Black Friday sale or if it will. And, if it is, will it be the same discount, or more?

Also, Uncle E, will JRR have the Cherry Audio Chroma at the $49 price that's going on elsewhere?
Until forever fades away.

I was in a hardware store a week ago and they had a mixture of Halloween decorations and Christmas trees. Seems rather desperate to make sales starting so early.
It was Tim Burton's fault all along.

I'll hold off on Mercury-6 for the moment then, seeing as you didn't specify which year for the end date of that one either :hihi:

You're not supposed to hold *ME* to that standard! :hihi:

btw, I'm blowing out our SONiVOX Orchestra Companion licenses for $4.99 each while supplies last. BUT be warned that they're getting discontinued by InMusic and I don't know what will happen to them after that.

Well, the early bird is more likely to get a purchase from me for both black Friday and end of year holiday sales. I always take the US Thanksgiving week and two weeks at the end of the year off from work. I want to buy new toys at the start of my vacation, not near the end of it. Exceptions occur only when it is “pencils down” for me for a display development project at work. However, recently it is pencils down for one project the back up for the next right away.

The other thing is so many deals are about to happen that a lot of decent-but-not-extraordinary deals get buried. "May as well sit this one out, playa, 'cuz she ain't noticing you."

At holiday time, I make a list of stuff I want and watch for it to go on sale. I do tier it as well, though. Sometimes the hunt is as fun as the synths 😝.

GForce is yummy and top-tier, but I am going for OB-E V2 this time and not Minimonsta 2. First a 10 hour work day, though.

I have a similar list for hardware, but there is nothing on it right now. I would love to own a Quantum Mk2, but I have no place for it and can’t justify the expense to myself. The price is stratospheric.

My rule nowadays is: IF it is less than 50% off, it's a no.

I don't even read the sales until they say 33% and more. Am very wary of those sales that say "up to _% off" since there's usually just one or two things at that discount with the rest being the standard discount they have on them the whole year.

I did get an email today for a "loyalty discount", which I also am skeptical of, but this one was a good price. Unless they plan on selling it at 50% off on BF.
It came out well under my threshold price though, so I bought it.

OB-E is lovely. Someone several months ago asked how to emulate an ambient sound where every voice was bouncing around the stereo field, and I found that OB-E was perfect for it. I’m pretty sure that the recording we were asked to emulate was done with OB-E, given how close it was.
