There are no IRs in Tapewave. The larger size of the binary (150mb I believe) is due to both the detailed 3D modelling of the graphics, animation of the tape reels, and the fact that this is a universal binary.Download SOphist wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:17 am on first hearing I thing I actually prefer this plugin to my other tape degraders, but may I ask why the big size ? is it IR related? even the humongous (as is normal with softube) dirty tape is half the size of tapewave. chow tape model is a 10th of the size.

This bug in FL Studio has now been fixed. If you download Tapewave again from our website (demo or full version), and run the installer again, this will now be fixed

Any chance a click-free bypass button for the whole plugin could be added? This would help with creative uses.
A second, more niche request would be to remove clicks and pops when automating the tape style.

looks like the brief test was a bit too brief.... turns out the version I downloaded was only processing in mono and I thought it's strange that this sounds so narrow compared to Cassette (not realising it was a bug - thought it was intentional, and it wasn't really obvious since the noise was stereo funnily enough).
Anyway... it wasn't FL Studio but Tracktion Waveform 13. Downloading the updated version right now.

Hey, I really like this plugin and price is quite reasonable. It does the "lofi cassette thing" very well.
Would it be possible to have a knob for noise volume instead of the 3 hard-coded values?

A well-behaved signature.

okay... this isn't bad.... not sure if it's needed when you already have the WavesFactory or the Aberrant one but it's not bad. Nice little 50Hz boost for the kick on the "Studio" Tape. Overall the EQ shape seems a little more generic than the WavesFactory one but it still sounds nice. It's great at subtle settings. and I like the fact that the dirt and compression are knobs instead of switches (as they are on the WF one). But yes... the noise should be continuously adjustable.

Thanks for the heads up.wave alchemy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:59 am This has now been fixed. Simply download Tapewave again from our website and run the installer again, and all should be fine in FL Studio
Have to say I jumped to conclusions too early on this. Although, not knowing the mono thing was a bug was partly at fault for that!
Despite owning many alternatives for every different FX type there is, I feel like a tape FX plugin is something I would like to only need / have one of. And I do still wish this had some extra controls over dry / wet, or a filter, at least. But, hopefully adding the tape section disable option will satisfy me later on, if not those other things, because I'm gonna have to get it! It just adds something that's hard to replicate with other plugins, or chains of plugins. So, the speed of results as well as the sound quality makes this a must have.
By the way, your first comment about this upcoming FL Studio fix was in response to someone mentioning the audio crackling / pops and clicks from the Age knob, as well as the mono issue. It sounded like both were going to be addressed in the fix. Should the Age knob issue be gone too? Because it's still there for me.

In the meantime, I was able to improve it quite a bit by going into the plugin Troubleshooting tab and checking "Fixed Sized Buffers" and also "Process Maximum Size Buffers" in the dropdown.

That did the job, thanks! It only improved it "quite a bit" for you? It got rid of it completely for me.

Glad it worked! I didn't test extensively enough to be confident in saying it was fully resolved. The lofi nature of the effect also makes it hard to be sure, but it seems fully resolved.
Using those settings is not always ideal (maybe affects CPU use or latency). Generally though, it's the fix for any popping or clicking sounds in FL that are not the result of CPU overload.

Actually, yes... it still needs bringing to their attention, because I'd only tested it on a source while I was playing MIDI notes manually. But, as soon as I used it while the DAW was playing, it threw the latency way off.
