I downlaoded the free (for a limited time) Phase Mistress plugin. It does look very small on modern high res monitor. It's a shame cause the plugin sounds great and is flexible. I will mostly end up using the presets because i'm not really tempted to menu dive on this tiny interface. To be fair, the plugins has a lot of presets and most of them are great and well organized.

Yes so soundtoys who have had requests from public and internal beta for yearss to have resizable guis, wouldn't just set aside a week or two just to do this...
cause that makes sense ...

smh.

I agree with all of us who want resizable GUI's, many of us beta testers have been asking for it for years.. SoundToys are very much aware of the requests..

I would be shocked if they aren't working on it and have been for awhile.

Allow me to point out the fact that while the founder of Nomad Factory passed away several years ago, some of the people who were connected with the company are working on updates for the NF plugins that include resizable GUIs (along with some other tweaks) and those updates are free for registered users.

Granted they are working slowly but there have been updates to several NF factory plugins so far that have allowed me to add them back to my working line up due to the new larger size GUIs (which my old eyes really appreciate).

The entire Plug and Mix bundle which contains 50 plugins is reported to be next for updates with a release slated within the next few weeks.

My point being that adding larger GUIs is not rocket science but is more down to a matter of will and the desire to please your paying customers.

It's quite possible as others have suggested that whoever wrote the code for the Soundtoys plugins is no longer with the company so updating them may not be an easy task but an announcement from Soundtoys stating that as fact if true would go a long way in public relations for the company.

From an email Soundtoys sent me 4 days ago, "
As of right now, there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins. However, this is a very commonly requested feature, so our Dev team is aware of the high volume of requests for GUI control, and they'll potentially be taking that into account for future updates. Again, there aren't any actual plans to implement that anytime soon, but our dev team is definitely aware of the desire for that feature.

The best way to work around this aspect of our GUI size is to adjust the viewing size for plug-ins in your DAW's settings.

Hope this helps! Let me know if I can answer anything else, and have a great rest of your day!"

So it doesn't look like it's being worked on at all.

Yeah forget it..

Sure looks like they don't have a Dev Team at all :D

I don't know any DAWS that have options to resize plugins themselves?

There isn't one afaik, since all the respectable devs took care of this issue early when hidpi became a thing. Why would they even care, if the plugin dev doesn't? You have the magnifier at the OS level, but that's about it.

You do have the option of building a new GUI yourself in FL Studio, Bitwig and Reaper, by using patcher or same way of using DAW level knobs to control the plugin parameters.

Certain DAWs like Cubase, Live etc do have options for auto-DPI scaling the plugin window.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to clear up some confusion - this is *most definitely* being worked on. Sorry for the miscommunication, I am not sure how the "no plans" message got out there.

Some behind the scenes: there's an order of operations to it that we've been slowly checking off - two of those things within the last couple of years have been VST3 support (because VST2 on Windows gives developers no way to know the DPI/scale factor of the current window) and, with our 5.4.x release(s), updating most of our core assets to high res so they don't look terrible when blown up. Both of these are in preparation for user adjustable scaling, which is a significant bit of (pretty far along) work in our graphics engine in order to look good and be performant on all DAWs and platforms.

I'd normally rather just stay quiet until we can say "it's ready", but didn't want the misinformation out there. We are working on it.

Thanks,
Chris

It's simple to be complicated, but complicated to be simple.

Thanks for the heads up Chris!

Thanks Chris.
Appreciated.

I was told however that it shouldn't be more than a week or month tops by a good coder.. Maybe you just aren't a good coder (the good coder part is meant as a joke...)

Lerian originally said half a day for a GUI resizing update.

It’s a damn shame Lerian and his buddies don’t work for SoundToys, we’d have this finished straight away.
