I know I did plan to but life has taken a turn for me and I just can't afford to donate to everyone! Currently there's around four or five devs that I donate to.

Indeed, last year you had the chance to get MuLab For Life at an extremely low price.
This year you still have the chance to get MuLab For Life at a very low price.
Next year you may possibly not have that chance anymore. That's unknown.
So if you're interested in MuLab For Life, take the promo now

Image-Line was originally a video game development company that added FL Studio (originally called FruityLoops) to their product line as a sort of one-off thing. It proved unexpectedly popular and eventually grew to the point that it became their primary product.Dionysos wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:42 am FL Studio didn't start a big company and they've had lifetime-free updates from the start (or at least very early on, I don't remember precisely).
Their income at the time would have been derived primarily from the games they were selling, which is why they could get away with that policy (game companies don't normally charge for upgrades/patches to their games, they try to get you to buy new games instead, or to re-purchase the same games for a new platform in some cases, so their Lifetime Free Updates policy could almost be seen as an extension of the video game mentality).
